Abus U lock issue

I've mounted an Abus Granit X-Plus https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H3T773O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 on the frame of a Cube SL Road Pro.
It's a sturdy lock and mount but it rattles where the shackle slots in to the crossbar of the lock.
There doesn't seem to be a fix for this.
Is this normal? Has anyone had the same problem?
I can only find glowing reviews online and no mention of this issue.
Thanks in advance.

Look to using velcro/bungee straps to tie it down.
Sure I had that lock a few years back and it did the same.
IIRC i removed the mount and just bagged/panniered it.0 -

I've always had problems with various D-locks rattling. I also carry the lock in my bag/panniers.0

How about some heatshrink sleeving ? A few hoops on the ends of the arm.
Maybe some cable ties and foam ?
Once you have something that works, you can make it look pretty.0 -
Has anyone tried one of those folding locks? They look like they might be a lot less susceptible to rattling. But they are a bit pricey, e.g.:

A folding lock could well be a good alternative. Not the one linked above though - the 6500 is better http://thebestbikelock.com0 -

Can you use some "Sugru" (no connection to me) to make a rubber buffer somewhere?
It's a mouldable rubber that sets.

Don't know how the particular mechanism works so can't be more specific.0
