    Thanks MRS E and Lucky!:)

I had wins nearly every month with p.bonds, usually at least £25 once we had built up to above £10,000, which we did pretty quickly.

we are starting saving them again, bought £200 worth this month. From next month all our savings including what we had been paying for the mortgage will be once again be put into bonds, we are aiming for £40,000 worth by August 2016, an ambitious target, but not unachievable!:)

We think they are a great way of saving, with the added excitement of winning each month, especially with interest rates so low. We have even said once we move, and have bought the things we are saving for with them, we are going to keep putting a couple of hundred pound a month in them for our retirement fund /nest egg.:)

    Thanks Pearla!

An expensive week, dear doggy has small lump on her eyelid, shes in for it removing tomorrow- £587 bill for us :(

My challenge for next few weeks is to make savings/extra cash to pay this off the credit card before the due date- i like to see life's little hiccups as challenges testing us on our path to our forever home fund- :)

We have next week off work, we have a night away on a farm b&b, payed for with a voucher from lovely son for my mothers day gift on the sunday, lots of lovely countryside- we can imagine its ours!:)

Then a few days cleaning/diy, catching up on little jobs.

I've bought some new books from amazon as my summer treat, you cant beat sitting reading in the garden , cool g&t, hubby pottering with his plants, sunshine, nice tea, bliss :):)

Thanks ourcornercottage! its a lovely feeling, we are enjoying it while it lasts, though we cant wait until August next year, when all being well we start another mortgage on our country home! :j

Doggy is home after her op to remove the lump on her eye, i feel so sorry for her, shes a little wobbly and sad after the anesthetic and painkillers, and she keeps bumping her halo collar into things, bless her :(

Had a surprising windfall yesterday £808 mortgage refund paid into our current account.. I rang Halifax, who assured me mortgage redeemed and land register update sent to remove them from title deeds on 3rd July, yet i asked for and paid the redemption figure , including an £800 early repayment charge that they specified..

how weird...:) im not complaining however, ive paid the £500 vet bill with it, and rest towards this months budget/savings :j

This month is now back on track after unexpected vet bill, and we should be able to use all hubbys wages for premium bonds now  my wage will cover c.tax, water, mobiles, food, internet, spends, and petrol.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, im on holiday now for a week, night away tomorrow at a rural b&b, then hoping to get lots of jobs done, with also lots of relaxing with books, county walks with hubby, generally a full recharge of our batteries:)

Im afraid ive neglegted my poor diary, no updates for a month!:o On payday we bought £2800 worth of p.bonds, we did really well this month, as both hubby and i get an annual loyaly bonus, totalling £500 gross, so that also went in the pot

We now have £3200 in the pot for our new life in the country 2016 fund :j

This was the first pay day with no mortgage payment, and it felt weird having so much cash free to save, im not going to relax though as we have a long way to go to build our £40,000 pot, and we arent going to get there unless we stick to our budget and keep an eye on outgoings.

This month we have had to buy a new divan base £163, not a fortune as we only got budget one to put us on until we move, but still an extra outgoing, and hubby bought tools needed for his job, £250, so now extra vigilance/frugality to make up for these are needed, but i will rise to the challenge! :rotfl:

Happy weekend everyone x Sammy xx:)
