Another vote for the Lion Habitat! Loved the place, and if you go, make sure to speak to the staff. Some amazing stories they have to tell. We missed the exit to the habitat, but if you do, don't panic, as the next exit also gets you there very easy.

On the topic of animals, I bought the groupon for Keepers of the wild - Anyone been there? Is it worth the drive?

32 days until we're leaving, and finally starting the planning in earnest! And for the first time, I have created a spreadsheet with our activities.. Not sure if that will work out better or not, but worth a shot :)

    Thanks
I always do a spreadsheet, mainly so I know when to checkout/check in to the various hotels.

I also plan some meals but mostly just put a list of eateries and places to go

    lionhabitat is on the list

We don't travel until August but I'm already thinking about a possible trip next year!

Has anyone stayed at Mandalay Bay/The Delano, and if so was there much/any airport noise? I like the look of The Delano but we've only ever stayed at City Center so not sure about being so far at one end of The Strip.

I'll do my trip report in bits, as i write them if that's ok! First up...

    HOTELS
Palazzo - Luxury Suite 1 bed, 28th floor, 3 nights 7-10 April, looking out over Wynn golf course. Our first stay here and it is a great property. Preferred it to the Venetian as it's just that little calmer. The pool area is the best, really comfy padded loungers, plenty of sunshine, lots of different areas to choose from. It seems to be standard now, but no robes, coffee machine or fridge in the room. Didn't try the $20 trick as we were checking in about 11am, so just wanted a room - fortunately one was ready. Late check out (1pm instead of 11am) was complimentary, 2pm 4pm or 6pm was available for a charge (don't know how much).

Vdara - City Corner Suite, 27th floor, 3 nights 10-13 April, upgraded at no cost to a City Panoramic Suite. Bagged a free upgrade! Didn't ask for it, wasn't offered it, just had a nice chat with the girl on the desk, who said nothing, when we got to the room we thought "this is bigger than we thought!". So the room was on the end of the building, with three of the four sides being windows. You could see uninterrupted views from the Luxor, the mountains, following the i15 northbound to the back of the Bellagio (could JUST see the lake!). And of course it comes with a washer and a dryer :D

Both have huge comfortable beds, very relaxing spacious rooms. I'd happily stay in them again.

If the Vdara could have the Palazzo's pool, that would be the perfect combination! Vdara is such a nice relaxing property, amazing rooms, so much space and great location. Its pool is good, but not great, especially if you're a sunseeker and an early riser. There's only a handful of perfect loungers.
  • I just had an email to say my MyVegas reward for two tickets to the Shark Reef Aquarium was due to expire, either book it or cancel.

Well, I used this reward a few weeks ago! So I went into the app, cancelled it in my wallet, and had 60k LPs returned to my account :D

Might be worth checking your MyVegas wallet for any rewards you have redeemed, but the system hasn't updated!

This happened to me with Tender from the Luxor in 2014, but I never did get the LPs back, it wouldn't let me. Then eventually it just switched to 'Expired' even though I redeemed it.

Mrs Stevie and I booked to stay at Mandalay Bay (MB) last December, on arrival I was offered upgrade to a Delano suite. From what I read I would have been happy with MB but the upgrade was too good to miss and was well worth it. Lovely suite separate living room, large bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom even had a tv :). Separate cloakroom if main bathroom was busy. We were on about 20th floor and overlooked MB and part of the airport, could see planes coming and going but didn't really notice any noise from the room. Of course if you are outside or round the pool you will hear the aircraft noise form there more than further mid strip. The pool was not open in Dec so noise didn't bother us.

I would definitely recommend Delano, although separate from MB it is a couple of minutes walk to the main MB casino floor. We have booked our trip again for Dec and hope to get the Delano again.

Oh don't forget complimentary champagne at the Delano bar between 7 and 8 each evening.;)

I have stayed at both (staying at Mb again next month).

Delano has the better/ bigger rooms but both are great.

no airport noise, great to watch the planes if you are that side of the hotel though.

    pool is fantastic
