Now im off to the 2013 thread!
Happy new year all!0 -
Declaring 1,220 in December for the last month of the challenge. That makes my overall totals or the year £16,802.
Absolutely delighted about that, most I've ever saved in a year by a mile!!
Looking forward to the 2013 challenge. Well done everyone on their totals!0 -
But at least its a good one!!!
Right so down to business!
Regular Saver 1: £250.00
Online Saver 1: £1000.00
Online Saver 2: £721.18
Grand Total = £1971.18
I am so pleased with my total for December because it means that I broke through the 18k barrier! £18000.00 is an incredible amount of money!!! I have to keep repeating it to myself - cos I just cant believe it!
I am so really proud of myself (even if I say so myself) for sticking to my frugal lifestyle and putting in all the hours that I could at work and Ebay!! I seem to have forgotten how miserable I was when I think about all the nights out I missed or the nice clothes I wanted at the time... cos it's ALL BEEN WORTH IT!
Everyone else seems to have done well and I am now looking forward to 2013.... may you all have a prosperous new year and a good money saving one too! Hope to see you all on the 12k in 2013 thread!0 -
Late to the game, but have updated the past three months and calculated my grand total of...
£9227.48!
It's under my £10,000 target, but not by as much as I was expecting considering how bad my totals were for the past three months.
I need to get better at this for 2013 though. Life has gotten a bit more expensive for me but I will still try for a £10,000 target. This topic has really helped me, so thank you!!!
And well done to all of you, it's a good start to 2013 to know that we have saved so much last year. Hope you can use it for something really worthwhile in the future!Saving £10,000 in 2013: £4491.48/£10,0000 -
Well I have decided what I am going to do with my 2012 savings, although it is not what I planned
I loaned the Ex money to help start up his business but as I didn't have any at the time I took out a loan to help him (his credit rating is shot to pieces and he wasn't an ex at the time). I have decided to pay off the loan with the money saved. I am not concerned about him not repaying it, I know he will, I just want a clean slate and no debt hanging over me (I am debt free but my name isn't due to this loan). Of course, I won't be telling him I am repaying it!! I will just have to pay his monthly instalments into my account instead of the lump sum I planned. Never mind, at least I will be all clear in myself.
2013 money is mine!!!! (and Little Miss Gap's since it is towards our expensive holiday )Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
Mortgage today = £166,457.86
300 282 payments to go.House buyout fund £3,261.67/£40,000
Random Pick Fridays = £80.010 -

Sorry it looks like I am late to the party .
I was away until the beginning of Jan and hadn't organised my spreadsheet until now.
My savings total for Dec was £534.00 bringing my total savings in 2012 to £3372.00 :T.
I didn't meet my original target but considering the fact that the year didn't turn out the way I was expecting (work-wise), it isn't too bad.
Thanks for all your hard work slowlyfading!2014 Savings Challenge #161: £6771.58 /£40000 -
