I recently recueved a letter about a debt to barclaycard. Having looked further into this the debt is mine and my last payment got made on 26th jan 2010.
Is there any kind of loophole for this to avoid payment at all as it's been so long?! Sounds cheap though I'm not exactly rich!
Cheers

Who exactly is saying when the last payment was made? DCAs are notorious for inventing payments that keep it within the timelines.
If it is all in order then you are dealing with a DCA who will have paid literally pennies on the pound for it, so get yourself to the Full and Final Settlement thread for advice on how to settle this at a fraction of what you owe.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000
