Surely there are plenty of rescue cats here!!!
How much time do they have to assess the cat before rehoming? How much info will you get in terms of helping you bond?
Where will she go if you don't click?
I really struggle with these oversea "rescue" outfits to be honest.

I have a cat on a one month trial, its very very common in the UK, probably the norm.

He gets a home visit after a month to see if both he and you are Ok.

By the way he's not going back, he's lovely.

Hi - looking for some advice please!

I'm wanting to adopt a rescue cat, and have found one that looks lovely. She's currently in Hungary, but is coming across to the UK for adoption in a few weeks.

The lady who's collecting her once she's brought over has offered me a 'trial adoption' - to see if we click and it works out.

I've never heard of this before so was wanting to know if it was common practice in the rescue world? From the sounds of it, this lady and her friends rescue animals privately, and are not part of an official charity.

    Anyone heard of this?
    Thanks
    Nienna

  • How utterly ridiculous.

Our rescue centres are full of unwanted cats. Why bring another one in from abroad????

Lots of abandoned dogs are brought over to the UK from Eastern Europe too.
