Morning Diary World
So following the payment from HSBC, I immediately paid £450 onto the BC. As you can see from my OP,
the balance for the offer ending in October is well on its way to being paid and I just may make it to not paying any interest, or may end up with one day's interest. Though seeing as it is only £60 or so,
I may use my EF and just pay it back a few days later to be sure I don't incur any interest. The payment is due on 01.10.2017 but I don't think the DD will go out on the same day. Will have to see closer to the time.
What surprises me though is that BC is still offering me 0% BT...OK I actually can't take them up on it right now because I can only transfer a ridiculous amount of £200 but it does bode well. My hope is that as I will be paying off quite big chunks over the next 2 to 3 months on the BC this will create more space to transfer some of that horrible balance from HSBC, assuming they still offer me 0% BT. I plan to reduce my credit limit on the HSBC account as it goes down.
Facebook sales have been positive, made £30 yesterday which is great. Survey's are somewhat slow, but still checking a few times per day. Also keeping an eye out for a suitable mystery job...there was one which was going to pay £20! but you had to do it in the week which is just impossible for me.
So I will keep looking.
Well need to get on with the morning, packed lunch to make etc. ByeStarting Total in September 2019 = £38287.77

HSBC has just deposited my repayment reward for the loan to the amount of £467.53. They really didn't drag their feet and I was only expecting £400.
I am going to use this to pay BC. But only £450.
I will save £16 for groceries.
Well done on this!!!!
I am just waiting to hear from my bank and my rewards account/mis selling etc - keep checking if I have got any emails off them! Plus the PPI claims that i have put in have all replied now and so I am just waiting.
Will keep you informed on my thread!
have a great day :TAim to be debt free....

Thanks LMBQ - although disciplined has never been a word associated with me in any context so I am chuffed...long may it continue!!Hi Narola - just found your diary you are doing amazingly well. Thanks Scotdebs - appreciate you stopping by and subscribing. Well done for being brave and making yourself accountable keeping the same details. My courage failed me LOL. I will pop over to your diary to see how you are getting on too.
Thanks Reb for stopping by, really very encouraging when people leave a little comment. Even though this time round I am determined to keep myself focused by posting o here whether or not people respond it i always nice to see someone has called round LOL
So today is not going to be a NSD I'm afraid. DD has asked for some school supplies which we will get. She is in her GCSE year and I want her to have everything she needs. So some of our facebook sales money will be sent on her and I will need to rejig the budget a bit. She also will be buying a gift for her friend but this will come from her own allowance. She has about £22 to spend. Really proud of her... she has £200 in her savings. She is saving for her first car, Christmas, Summer, Rainy Day and Japan. Of her £15 p/w she gets, most of it goes to savings.
I have done a few surveys but still slow going. Just £1.75 shy of my £10 Tesco voucher. Nearly at £20 with PA but the survey's have been few and far between. I am hoping they will pick up soon now that the summer is over.
I have been thinking about the tax implications of these surveys and mystery shops as of course I would not wish to fall foul of the law. Does anyone know how much you are allowed to earn on these or is linked to your currently salary and the tax threshold you are on? How might I go about finding out?
Plans for Today:
* Clean the lounge
* Get DD school supplies
* Bake a loaf of bread - will need to google this one!
* Collect a Christmas tree from freecycle.Starting Total in September 2019 = £38287.77

Just found your diary and enjoyed reading it. You're doing so well and I look forward to watching your debt go down.

Thanks Mummy Bear for stopping by...will return the favour.
So a small update...
Spent a lot at WH Smith on school supplies...£95 to be exact. That took a lot of movement of money in the budget but at least I did not use the credit card as I would have done even a month ago. It was painful to use cash which is of course the point. Paying by credit is pain free, well at least until the bill comes through.
Spent £40 at Lidl on a top up shop but also for DD's packed lunch supplies. I have separate budgets for groceries and school dinner so only deduct what I spend for packed lunch stuff from the school dinner fund. I am supposed to get £10 cash back from Visa...apparently Visa has this scheme where they have cash back rewards for certain spending at certain places. So if it works, I will in fact have paid £30 for my £40 shop. Will keep you posted if I get my cashback.
Received my expenses money today, only £63 but at least I could replace some of the money I moved around to pay for the school supplies. Also sold a handbag storage for £6. Still have 2 more to sell but its taking a while. Just need £1.50 to get my £10 Tesco voucher from VO. This will help with the grocery shop. I am pleased as so far I have only spent £145 on groceries. Considering my usual month spend is £400 to £500 I am pleased. OK the month isn't over yet, but I think that I have made good progress so far.
So I decided to take BC up on their BT transfer offer...0% until 1 December 2018, 2.9% fee. So I transferred £560 from my HSBC balance which is all I could transfer. I know it is not much but my thinking was that come end of September, who is to say they would still offer me 0%? Better to take advantage of the offer now. Also, better to get rid of £500 off the HSBC card which is currently at a horrendous rate of 29.9%.
Things are going to get harder before they get better as some chickens are coming home to roost and by that I mean 0% deals are ending. I have a final payment of £100.05 for Argos at the end of this month and then I will add that amount to the £400 loan amount and it means I can throw £500 extra to my debts in addition to the minimum payments. Hopefully that will make decent dents into the balances. But once I start paying interest on the MBNA cards I will throw the money at HSBC because their interest is higher than MBNA's. I can't wait to close the HSBC account, which I should have done from the start.
Well have to get off to work now. Have a good day everyone, will catch up with your diaries soon.Starting Total in September 2019 = £38287.77

You've done really well with the groceries, you're on course for a huge reduction on your usual amount, and great that you didn't use the credit card for school supplies, all this little changes soon add up to a big difference.

Morning....just a quick post before starting the working day. I am so glad its Friday!
Survey Roundup:
*Prolific - surveys have been very slow for me, but finally managed to cash out £20. Waiting for it to hit my account. I have never used Circle before so hope its a smooth transaction.
* Crowdology - no surveys for a while now.
* Valued Opinions - Good run of surveys recently allowing me to cash out a £10 Tesco voucher - my third in a couple of months. This will be very helpful towards the grocery fund.
Other news:
* Received my £10 cashback from Visa for shopping at Lidl. Its a pity its a 1 time deal. There is a Boots deal which I may be able to use depending on when the deal expires.
* Realised I wasn't going to be able to get away with not buying cat food this month so had to bite the bullet. I shop from Zooplus so decided to also get the litter she uses to avoid having to shop again and make up the minim spend for free delivery. So that came to £32, but that will last for at 3 months so not too bad. I also went via Top Cash Back so at least I will get 81p cashback!
* We have been having spotty WiFi over the last few months which has been annoying. I know we have a lot of devices accessing the WiFi but I pay for superfast broadband (get a small contribution fro work) because of working from home. But I was so annoyed that I rang up Virgin Media and asked when my contract ends as I want to look at a new provider...speed is all good and well but only when you actually can access the WiFi. Well the lady obviously did not want to lose my custom as I have been with them for 13 years! So she has arranged a new modem for me as mine is a few years old and also reduced my bill by £6. Not a massive amount but fine. Granted this starts another 12 month contract but as I really like Virgin and wouldn't be changing my TV I was happy to accept this deal. A saving is a saving.
We do not go out for meals, we don't smoke or drink, or even go out much nor do we buy takeaways so TV is our one major luxury. That is the extent of our entertainment, and of course the internet! So I don't feel too guilty about this expense. My bill (TV, Broadband and Phone is £77.50 per month, but for that I have the XL TV package and 2 TIVO boxes, 200MB broadband). I like that Virgin is responsive when there is a problem and no call out fees if there is a fault.
So plans for the weekend:
* Table tennis - we are going to a pay as you go session for the first time - we love TT but had to sell our board. I like that we can go when we can and pay as we go. This is also by way of being a family activity.
* Eye test on Saturday - I suspect will need new glasses but going for a cheap frame. I haven't been very good diet wise and my eye sight is reflecting my poor attention to my diabetes. My DD told me off the other night for not taking better care of myself and even became upset. I felt awful. Its so hard though, even though there is a compelling reason, it still hard to stick to a diet. I did so well for 2 months and really made fantastic progress on my blood sugar levels that the Dr was amazed but I have been awful since. I think it is a personality flaw...whenever I do well and start to make progress in my life, whether that's weight related or finance related, I always seem to sabotage myself. I really must do better. I know I can do it...I have done it before, just need to get myself together.
Now that nights are drawing in, pick up my cross-stitch again. I do enjoy this, but mostly in the winter months so a projects takes me ages!
* Top up shop for packed lunch stuff and other bits and bobs
* Do some household chores of any kind...just do something, anything. I am lazy...there is no other way of putting it!
Right off to work now...that was a much longer post than I intended, hope I did not bore you LOL
