It's a simple plan, for a simple man Stan. Fully explained for butterfly brains by the end of the first paragraph.:shhh:

Of course, what one needs in order to design any effective security system is a realistic threat analysis.
    • Discovery and theft of cache
    • Losing the cache - forgetting the location
    • Losing access to the cache - someone's built a house or road on top of it
    • Physical damage to contents
    • Inflationary damage to cache's value
    • Cached banknotes becoming obsolete

Each threat needs a mitigating design feature in proportion to it's likelihood and gravity of consequences.

    Warmest regards,
    FA

Another useful precaution seems to be not carrying a smartphone when creating the asset cachee, to avoid leaving an electronic clue trail.

Burying money in the ground is so yesterday, who do you think you are Samuel Pepys? :)

Security Box is your friend, under an assumed name.

Might be best to start getting a comprehensive set of disguises and false identities ready for your time on the run; wigs, hats, false moustaches etc, etc.

Practice some different accents as well!

I wish you well in your venture.

How do I know? Because the topic is little discussed

Perhaps you're just not moving in the right social circles.

    if I become a fugitive...

    Is nobody else curious?

FA - from what are you fleeing? Don't say "winter is coming".

Lockers in train stations seem popular locations for stashing bags of kit for folk on the run...if Hollywood is to be believed. Not sure how often lockers are emptied by cleaning staff.

Nobody would think of looking for a load of money in the confessional booth. Why not create a secret compartment under your seat?

Mind you if you are expecting to become a fugitive from what I think you may be becoming a fugitive from, it may not be the best idea. Getting unfrocked would really be the last straw.
  • The island of Hispaniola would be a excellent place for this. A sort of double bluff.
