Chicky - I agree what's the point!!

Have sorted through some of my magazines today with the intention of getting rid of them but all I've ended up doing is adding to my "to do" list.
And the winner is Ailsb!!!!!

hi maria - I've watched the Sewing Bee programme tonight and really enjoyed it even though I don't do real stitching myself. Looking forward to next weeks programme but I dont think I will be getting the sewing machine out any time soon

ruth - in our lounge/dining room we have Michael Powell Cottage Garden, a large cross stitch ballerina (from many years ago) and one with a flower in a vase (from about 6/7 yrs ago whilst recovering from an op). In kitchen we have Michael Clayton Tulip Fields and in DS's bedroom there is xstitch of The IT Crowd and little Mouseloft kit with cat/computer Fatal Error. Hopefully during 2013 I will be able to add Sleeping Beauty to our collection - this will be hung in our bedroom. Hope you enjoy show.

chicky - hope the headache has gone now. Make sure you enjoy your hols. Just clicked your link as DH was walking behind me and I'm sure he did a double take.

Going to settle down now to watch a little bit of tv before bedtime.

Night Night

Anyway, I was just having a look at some websites to see if anything takes my fancy to look out for at the Excel show later this week and I found some London themed evenweave/aida on Sew It All. http://www.sewitall.com/webshop/even...n-evenweave-28
They have Eiffel tower, snowflakes, bears and confetti too. Hope they have them at the show. Sew It All have been at every other show I've been to, so pretty sure they'll be there this time too. Also hoping Historical Sampler company and The Nimble Thimble will have stands, but I can't find an exhibitors list anywhere.

ETA-found one. Sew It All will be there. As will Black Sheep & Craft Lines of Essex (used to be a lovely shop near me, but closed down & website is expensive & quite frankly, a bit pants!). Ah well, looks like my money will be spent on the fudge stall instead! Lol!
I love Sew it All - they haven't been at a show I've attended recently but I have bought from their website. They used to do special offers at shows of 10 assorted pieces of fabric for £x and I always used to come home with one of their bright yellow bags.

Black Sheep usually have some good bargains if you like xs kits (and they will have loads of wool if you are a knitter)

I agree about Craft Lines although they usually have some reduced items on the stall and I have found the occasional gem.

Abakhan are great for patchwork and dressmaking fabric (and sell loads of wool but as I rarely knit I can't comment on prices or quality). Sew Enchanting also have beautiful quilting fabric.

But overall there isn't a lot to inspire a dedicated cross stitcher so I think you may have lots of pennies to spend at the fudge stall

Looking forward to seeing what you do buy - have a great day.

Not sure. Some things work on patterned fabric. I've seen a flower stitched on that swirly aida that works, but I never would've done that. I like the paw print one and was thinking about stitching the LK 'cat lessons' on it...what do you think?

This would look wonderful on the pawprints fabric

Is this the only place to chat about cross stitch? I find it quite hard to follow sometimes or is there a chat room you all use?
