Sorry Cathy, not sure what you mean by a chandlers store. The only sort of "chandlers store" that I can think of is a marine chandlery which obviously sells things for boats.
Is that what you mean or are you thinking of something else?0 -

there are ships chandlers and ordinary chandlers

Mother always used amonia in the oven, and a few drops in the water when she did the floor, but i didnt have any joy finding amonia anywhere.
ammonia is great for floors but not if its polished cos it will strip the polish off, great if you want to take the old polish off though0 -
i get mine from local bike repair shop, they have it for stipping old oil and grease off chains and stuff, never knew it did that till i asked.0

Ah!!!! Now I get it. I know exactly what I'm looking for now.
Thanks Cathy0 -
Try using Astonish Oven & Cookware Paste. I use this and its fabulous. Easy to use, no awful smell and really does give Astonishing results.
I saw this other thread on the forum regarding the paste. Read it and see what everybody else says.
"Saw this Astonishing cleaner on GMTV commercial this morning"
Unfortunately will not let me post link as I am a new user.
It is currently being advertised on GMTV in a morning.
I bought it from Wilkinsons. Very cheap and lasts ages. (Costs less than a bottle of amonia) Also available in most 99p stores or pound shops :T0 -
Check out astonishcleaner.com for full details of suppliers.0

Also thought someone might be intrested in the "how clean is your house " website with Kim and Aggie , as it has helpful tiips on there to get rid of things with videos [ most cleaning stuff you already have in the house }
Although I picked up teh book from a charity shop and found that quite helpful .
