We are still using one of the polycotton single duvet covers bought on hp from a well known catalogue when the kids were young almost 30 years ago!...It is still in constant use....off the bed, through the wash and back on the same day...we have a quilt each as we like different! The rest is that cloth made of beech fibre...cannot remember the name offhand. ..all in cream....3 flat sheets, 2 single fitted for the guest bed.2 single covers, two double covers, 8 pillow slips.0

Ours are all white, Egyptian cotton in summer and flannelette in winter. Duvet covers are in plain colours - cream in our bedroom, cream and duck egg blue in second bedroom and terracotta in third bedroom. Pillow cases always white cotton.
Today I hung out a pair of sheets and 4 pillow cases as it was a good drying day; some toe-rag has taken one of the sheets and had the cheek to leave the pegs on the line! So, one sheet down now.:mad::mad::mad:Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
I'd love to have white bedding - but 2 black & white cats and it is never going to happen!
we currently have a beige/cream pattern set, and a purple/black set, both with matching sheets. I'm going off the first set, and the 2nd set is fading quite badly, but I'm going to wait until we re-decorate and then get something that matches ( and will hide cat fluff! )
I have a lovely pale grey & white set that is used in the spare room and the cats are not allowed in !
I have 2 purple/lilac sets that are 'spare' and are used when we use the sofa bed.
DS has 2 sets he uses, DD has 2 sets she usually uses, but another 2 for when friends come to stay!0 -

Thanks loocyloo. It's a good job I'm not a witch otherwise there would be some not very nice things happening to whoever it was! Now I've calmed down a bit, I'm wondering why they would [STRIKE]take[/STRIKE] steal just one sheet and not the pair.
Luckily, I have another spare sheet I can use to make up a pair.Be kind to others and to yourself too.0 -
I have creams and blues
I got Hotel collection heavy Egyptian cotton cream set for our bed in 70%off at House of Fraser in New Year, it's cream and lovely!! I think £50ish, down from over £200. I would never pay that much for bedding.
But when warmer weather hits I find I can sleep with just that, no duvet in it.
Then I just bought (from Debenhams sale) lovely light blue set with creamy birds on it. Not washed to be put on the bed yet! That is to replace another cream set that we had for years! I think it was £42, but I bought it with Topcashback cashback, which is worth 10% more when exchanged to shop vouchers.
The most annoying and expensive thing are bed sheets. We got new matrasse last year, lovely, but now I need extra deep fitted sheets and not everyone carries them and they seem to never go into sale. Just bought 2 (white) at £27 each!!
Spare bedroom will be getting new bed and duvet within next 12 months, currently I only have 1 stripy blue set for that bedroom and not going to buy another one until new sizes are decided. I have a drier so I can manage with just 1 set there for now.0 -
... with a bit of navy
They all feature some shade of those colours.
Patterned is better for me, as I have lots of cats who like to share the bed.
I have far too many duvets but I love my cotton ones, so I am trying to whittle it down to just cotton and recycle/sell/donate the polycotton onesGC £150 a month for food, toiletries and cleaning Jan £134.58 Feb £137.18 Mar £103.76 as of 6/4/24Forever learning the art of frugality0 -
We have a white with grey toile type pattern (ikea) and 2 of everything so I can change the bed as soon as it's stripped.0

I don't get it. If cats/pets go on beds and you avoid white bedding because it would need changing every day...... Just because you can't see the filth on dark bedding, doesn't mean it's not there."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
