bay window conversion to french doors

Hi there, we have a 3m bay window which we are converting to 1.7m (approx) french doors with two side windows. To match the rest of the house these need to be bespoke hardwood frames with double-glazed windows. The bay window is load-bearing (just for a small canopy above the window only) so the new structure needs to be fitted with care.

We have had two quotes, one is £5900, the other £6700.

This seems a little bit steep to me.
Your thoughts appreciated!!
John

  • hi john,
i came across a custom stained glass shop in canada that may be able to help you out. if you give them a call and talk to Vic, he should be able to answer your questions. (they'll do their best for you even if you don't buy from them).
i had a couple of very difficult projects that i wouldn't have been able to do without them! they make beautiful glass by the way :)
i keep their number on hand, it's 1-604-502-8670. their website is http://www.stylesglass.com/
    hope this helps
