When my MIL did one for our neice (her Grandaughter) on her 1st birthday she had the first few pages dedicated to family. She had some lovely pictures of Nanna and Pops, Granny and Grandpa, Daddy, Mummy and her Auntie and Uncle (me and BF) oh and Cassie the dog :P We thought this was lovely as it would be nice to look back on.

We then had things that had happened like:

    The family holiday
    Christmas
When we went to visit them (they lived on Tresco)
    Day trips to various places
    Pictures of favourite toys

I liked that each page had a few photos as it was a lovely way of remembering it all!

Unfortunately I can't help with the name. They were outside the craft shop on a sale table with a hand written sign saying "silver rings - 10p", "coloured rings - 14p"! I wonder if you could google under scrapbook rings perhaps?
Thanks for your help kisto, I googled scrapbook rings and found out they are simply called 'book rings' - I managed to find a site selling them for 20p each too!;) (www.jemcraftmemories.com/shop) There wasn't a minimum spend but postage was £1.99 per order so I found some more craft goodies to justify the p&p! :D (They've also got some nice baby embelishments if you're interested :D)

  • Not as great as all the other ideas, but how about a special page for both twins together. I have twins (girl and a boy)
For their book, I have done a page in my sons that says- me and my sister and one in my daughters saying-me and my brother. Underneath it has a photo of them both together. :)

I have been busy today adding some more to the scrapbooks.

    The above poem is:
Teddy bears and seas of blue
    Smiling in honor of you
    An infant, not long ago
    Now, one candle is aglow
You are growing up so fast
How quickly a year has passed
You are special, sweet, and wise
    A present before our eyes.

    Baby’s breath and sun-filled skies
    Ladybugs and lullabies
    Starry nights and bright moonbeams
    Tender hearts and lasting dreams
Each, a gift within your view
During this time, made for you
May only good things come your way
On this, your very first birthday.

    This poem reads:
What Are Little Girls Made Of?
Girls are made of sugar 'n spice,
    Everything sweet, & everything nice,
Girls are ruffles, bonnets, and bows,
    Dimpled smiles and dancing toes,
They're tears and giggles, dolls and curls,
That's how it is with little girls.

    This poem reads:
What Are Little Boys Made Of?
Boys are made of chuckles & grins,
    Tousled hair and banged-up shins,
Things with wheels & frogs in pockets
    Questions, baseball caps, & rockets;
    They're joy & mischief, fun & noise-
That's how it is – boys will be boys!

I've still got loads more to do and finishing touches to add so I'll try and keep you updated with my progress.

Wow kisto, they're coming along nicely - they will be nice keepsakes for the years to come. Have you found out the info other people have suggested - the number one song, the news items of the day, etc. I like that idea. My older son was born in January 2000 and we compiled the info then. You've reminded me that I must put it in a scrapbook -it's only 8 years later! :rotfl:

    Thanks qwiksave.

I have started a word file containing all the info from the day they were born. I'm trying to find some "interesting" people they share their birthday with - currently I can only find some not well known actors.
