Been asked to prove my identity by sending a copy of a recent bank statement.
Simple I thought...........oh no it 'aint
So I go online to my First Direct bank account, select statement etc & then print off the statement.
The most bizarre thing is that your address is not printed on the bl**dy statement !!
What a ridiculous situation............
Is it all online bank statements that do this or just First Direct ??
Update........
Rang First Direct....online statements do NOT have your address on them because the are not in pdf format.
So no online statement available from them.

Most if not all companies won't accept statements printed from the Internet as proof of ID. I keep one account set to paper statements for this reason. Check what the company asking for ID state.
As far as I'm aware, LBG don't charge for a copy of a statement you haven't yet had in paper format, so something to look into if you need a paper statement and have an account with them.0 -

You don't need an online statement you need a paper statement.
First Direct does offer paper statements free of charge each month if you opt in. If you require a paper statement for past periods it will provide one at a price.
"How many transactions can I see?
Currently Internet Banking holds up to the last 72 months worth of transactions (while you have an account with us). Should you require paper statements, please call on 03 456 100 100. A charge of £2.50 will be incurred for each paper copy of a statement issued."
