Co signatory on treasurers account- help

Hi,
I am the manager of a charity and have been asked by the treasurer to act as a co signatory on a new treasurers account that they are planning to set up.
As I deal with the paperwork, it makes sense for it to be me.
However, 5 years ago I was made bankrupt - was discharged a few months later. So I am a discharged bankrupt. Will I be able to act as co signatory on a treasurers account, or will I fail at the credit check stage? This would be very uncomfortable and embarrassing for me as I do not wish my colleague and family friend to be aware of my previous situation. He has asked me for my consent to be credit checked and 5 year address history to do so.
I cannot find any information regarding this online, so welcome any advice. Many thanks in advance.
