Leeds Building Society

Has anyone recently applied for a mortgage with Leeds I can only find old posts.

I got a decision in principle with them going directly for more than I'm now applying for (with the same deposit), I'm just concerned that now I have submitted the application it will be rejected. Originally I went through a broker who said I would have to go through a specialist broker via him and then came back and said that unless I increased my deposit I wouldn't get a mortgage anywhere.

My experian report is very poor and my equifax is great it appears the LBS only look at equifax.

    What with?

If you read your post, there is nothing but this;-

"I'm just concerned that now I have submitted the application it will be rejected"

and the answer can be only be yes, it might and no, it might not.

You've chosen not to use the broker and to provide so little information at this time, no-one here has the remotest idea of what your chances are...

You've applied. You need to submit the requested documents and await their assessment and the conclusion, the valuation and issue of the mortgage offer.

Has anyone been given a DIP only for it to be rejected a later date even if a hard credit check was completed an all information given was correct.

Sorry if I didn't explain myself correctly but there is really no need to be so rude.

    Ahh, ok.

I'll stop being so rude then.

Just in case anyone is in the same boat, I spoke to Leeds today and I have an offer subject to the valuation, so I've been approved. :)

I've managed to save nearly £1k in MA fees now I'm not saying by any means all of them are the same as mine I was probably unlucky but it does show that even without a perfect credit history you can get a mortgage without a MA.

Congrats! Firstly I am shocked with the passive aggressive responses on this forum. If people are tired of answering the same questions why bother typing?
I am in a similar position, and was wondering how you decided on Leeds?

Oh it was because I had some defaults my experian credit report wasn't great but my equifax was so I looked up which banks/building societies used which reports.

It wasn't a terrible rate either three months 0% (which gives me some extra money when I need it most) and 2.6% fixed for 5 years (I wanted a longer fixed for some security) this was personal choice, there were several mortgages to chose from but I had 15% deposit there are only 3 options (not terrible in my opinion) with less than 15%.

Well done Aneary, great piece of Sherlock Holmes work there it seems.

btw, how did you discover LBS only use Equifax? I have looked at the MSE link below which details which lending organisations use which particular CRA's and found it unreliable.

I googled it and then I checked Leeds' website when I applied for a DIP.

After being told I would only get a mortgage with a 20% deposit by a mortgage adviser and also would be charged another 1k of fees I will never use a broker again.
