The field was flooded when I took Dave out this morning, so we had to find another route for our walk. I hadn't realised it had rained so much last night! If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

ETA - Random Question: what are your thoughts on leaving your kids home alone. My DS is 10 and legally he is allowed to stay at home alone for short periods as long as he feels safe etc (I just checked...and was surprised!) I had to go and take Nephew to nursery and DS didnt want to come, but I didnt really want to leave him so made him come. Hes huffing and puffing that its not fair and Im treating him like a baby... what are your thoughts? I know there is probably a more appropriate board for this, but I know you ladies and wondered your opinions.Sometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flyingYou are supposed to be the leading lady of your own life, for God's sake! - The HolidayDFW  August 2013... from the age of 10 mine are walking down to the high school on their own so are probally safer in the house, my youngest is 12 now, ill give him the choice if we are going boring shopping or popping round mils etc i always leave him my mobile phone and have dhs with us and leave the keys in the door with instructions hes to lock after we go and not let anyone in or answer the house phone. i wouldnt go out on the razz and leave him but there are times when they are happier home alone, you know your own child and what they will know what they can or cant do.
HTH
almost wasted morning walked down for mils perscrptions and as suspected was told she cant have any more tabs yet as according to their records she still has enough. i realised that after i spent an afternoon round there playing hunt the tablets from her many hiding places! still nipped in shops and popped in to see DD3 whos off work poorly so not totally wasted morningSPC~12 ot 124
In a world that has decided that it's going to lose its mind, be more kind my friend, try to Be More Kind0 -
Jo - my DS3 is also 10. I will leave him home alone if I'm popping out for up to about 30 minutes. He knows the rules, only answer the phone if it says Mum or Dad mobile, no answering the door.
Yey my elec/gas switch has happened so that is a job I can tick off.
Just going to have lunch and then clean the bathroom. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
There is no legal age for them being left alone.. you could leave a toddler in the house alone but you are responsible if they have an accident. At 10 I would leave them for no more than half an hour probably.. if they were a sensible child.. DS3 is a muppet so has only just started being left at 13LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Mine are 2 and 3 and I often leave them watching tv whilst I go to the pub.
NOT!
(sorry, not funny)
Been at toddler group this morning, back for lunch, chucked tots out in garden while I did the dailies. Wm on and just having a cuppa and catch up. Is it kids rooms today? I dusted and vacced all upstairs yesterday whilst I had the stuff out. DS has since emptied his cars everywhere, but other than that we are good. I've still got paperwork to do. Might do this aft, when I've hung the washing out...Bossymoo
