Y'know how I was bemoaning a lack of £2s.... I was given FOUR tonight while shopping, 3 of which in the same handful of change! :rotfl: I also spotted a £1 coin roadkill in Clinton's so pocketed that as well, all of which has gone in the pot.

I have set aside another £30 that I was paid today.(I am not normally paid in cash, but occasionally it happens-often with,eg,a 94yo customer not confident with online banking,or new customer who hasn't got around to settign up online payments yet).
I really am hoping to bank my SPC 10 funds, and buy new pots tomorrow, though partner is making noises about driving our car to work (because I have a day off),so I might not get to shops/banks tomorrwo afterall. We shall see.....

    Hey,Jakes Mum.Jakes Mum!Jaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkes Muuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

If anyone sees Jakes mum,I need to know.......

how did you do your potting with notes for SPC 10?I have just spent 6 hours (:eek::eek::eek:) counting up my coins, recounting my coins, bagging my coins, recounting my coins,re-bagging my coins............Of course, everytime I count the final tally,it comes to a different amount.THENNNNNNNN as I was carrying my bagged up coins to put them away until I can bank them,a couple of bags spilt,so another few bags were re-packed and re-counted :rotfl:.
So,do you have a holding pot where you throw the coins until you have enough to bag up and put into the bank, then exchange for notes at the bank.Do you spend coins on self-serve tils and replace the equivalent with notes from the ATM?What do I need to do?
Hours counting, the smell of dirty coins wont leave my hands, and I know the bank will give me a different SPC total than what I have declared icon_rolleyes.gif.

    I'm hereeeeeeeeeeeeeee :rotfl:

I found not potting coppers made it 100 x easier, I row up my coins in piles, everything in £1 piles except 50p and above (makes it easier to make sure your bags are correct). Bag up what I can , then with what I have left over I take the oddments to the bank too (just in case I have miss counted) and if I haven't I change up some of the oddments into other coins to make more full bags.

Sooo, this year I had £9 odd in 20p's so I changed up some of the extra 10p's I had into 20p's to make another full bag :D

I am lucky that Barcla*ys will take all my change in one go and are happy to swap up one coin for another to give me as many full bags as possible :D I do make sure I don't go down there at lunchtime though :rotfl:

  • Could I join you all please?

Years ago when we just had the 1 or 2 children little, our change pots used to cover their Christmas. Now we have the 5, 3 of them being teens, I don't think the change pot this year would buy them all a selection box each.

I've got a metal, tin opener tin somewhere, will find it out until my big jar has been emptied of this year's money.

Sorry to be a pain, but I think I might be No. 062 already.

That’s fine helsbell, I’ll remove the latter one but please don’t forget, it's the original No 062 that you are and where you will be staying! Am I right in thinking you also go under the name of get-me-outta-this-mess? If so, which is your current CORRECT USERNAME?! It's imperative we have you listed correctly under one name!!!!

Yes, I understand what you mean, mrs-moneypenny, and yes, I remember your Daughter’s Wedding being saved for and I can understand with the cost of Weddings why you didn’t include that, but I just wanted you to be able to include your overtime for your kitchen into your SPC savings as the others do. Still, if you’re going to put on your siggy every so often you will then include it when you declare!!! Brilliant! BTW. A cracking sum saved already - in £2 coins too!!!! :j Jakes-mum will be seeing red!!!! :rotfl:

An excellent find with the £1 found in Cl!ntons, MrsShazbat!!! Great news about the 4 x £2 coins too, there you are you see - it’s not always jakes-mum alone who gets them!!!!!! :j

Not to worry if you’re unable get to the bank until tomorrow, Saver-upper, just be sure to keep it safe! Well done with the £30 saved already!!! :j

Hiya Lost, lovely to see you over here on SPC 11! What’s this then no cash....?!

So pleased to see you’ve got your budget and your bills all sorted, Florence, so you’re away with your savings now, very well done!!

It sounds to me as though you have all businesses in your town wrapped around your little finger, jakes-mum!

Thank you so much, siju, you're so very kind. Very well done with your potting! :D
    Sue xx

Opening date for SPC 11 will be 1st November 2018
