Teacher told child she could wet herself

My daughter year 6 asked the teacher if she could go to the toilet during the afternoon but was refused. She waited a bit and asked again but was told to wait until hometime. My daughter said she couldn't wait that long and the teacher replied with "If you can't wait you will just have to wet yourself"

Fuming with the teacher!

Have you asked the teacher for their version of events?

Yes she said it was a joke, but my daughter was still not allowed to go to the toilet

Been a few of these threads recently. You need to speak to the teacher, find out their version, then deal with it from there.

Will say though, a year 6 pupil will be moving to secondary school in just a couple of months, and the rules will be stricter there

I think it is appalling to deny anyone the toilet, let alone a 11 year old girl

A 6 year old should be able to hold themselves...move on.

    To the OP:
So are you leaving it at that or do you plan to take it further?

An 11 year old girl may need the toilet for reasons other than having a wee. Are the school okay with the idea that a girl should spend the rest of the day sitting in bloody clothes?

Needs more details before you say that. Did the event happen just after lunch? as the teacher was explaining something vital? was it 10 minutes before the end of the day? Did more than one person ask at once? etc.

I also have an 11 year old daughter, and she is quite capable of holding it till she can get to a toilet
