Saturday 29/11/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

:D When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today I will:
  • check online banking
  • move some spare cash to savings
  • make a loaf in breadmaker
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • carry on cleaning and decluttering house - almost done:D
  • go for swim and jacuzzi to use gym membership
  • go to market for some cheap veggies
  • drop another bag of stuff in at charity shop
  • clean out car ready for service on monday
  • check quidco due payment this month:D
Good morning guys, early start for me this morning got a lot to do today:rolleyes:
It is really foggy here this morning... and cold, woolly jumpers and sparkly socks for me:D
Hope you all enjoy your Saturday, will catch up with you all later in the day.:D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

    Morning guys,

Yesterday I went to the benefit office to hand in some more proof so am hoping to get some money sorted before 2009!

I have my appeal meeting about my dismissal on wednesday, I believe they under paid me in my final wage so should get some money from them :money:

    Today I will:
    * Hang washing up to dry
    * use money off vouchers for take away tonight :T
    * Ds has a party later, so will eat his dinner there
    *write notice for nursery
*write letter for in work credit

I am still getting child tax credits, so that's £41 per week to live off till the other benefits are sorted.

  • Morning all,

    Today I will:

    1) Transfer £2 to my PAD challenges.
    2) Bake bread (didn't last night, too tired).
    3) No takeaway!! I did a huge (well for me) £40 Sainsbury's order this week, buying enough food to last til I get back from Holiday in January. I have no reason to buy food beyond fruit, milk and eggs!
    4) Try and figure out how to ebay some stuff. :o
    5) Wii Fit. Oh I wrote last weekend I was going to check out gyms. I did and I decided to wait until next yr. Really don't want to spend any more money than i have to atm.
    6) Another night in tonight. I have 3 big xmas do's coming up and I'm saving my socialising for them, as they are all free. I did have to buy a dress, got one for £40 and a smart skirt for £15 but they will be used a lot this Holiday season as well as on my Holiday. :)
    7) Try and find the best way to get US dollars.
    8) Chase flatmate for money owed from grocery order.

    Have a lovely Saturday gang.

  • Good Morning Everyone,

I hope you're all having a good day so far.

    Today it's pretty much more of the usual for me;

    Bake more bread
    Clean out the chooks
Washing at 30 and dry on airers in the house
Clear out some of the junk that has accumulated in the spare room, perhaps list some for sale.
Check through the freezer to see what's in there for dinner
General tidy up ..... then relax :rotfl::rotfl:

Have a lovely day all x
I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead
  • If I might join in....

    Today I will:

    Check my online banking
Wash down the walls ready for painting using stardrops and washing up liquid rather than the expensive stuff that doesn't work half as well.
    Store cupboard lunch and dinner
Pick up veggies for the week - nothing else needed.
    Make a loaf of bread
Do some washing (using the new liquid from Lidl - seems lovely, half the price)
Stack box for Ebay listings - I think it's free listings on 99p auctions this weekend

    Good luck to all x
Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
