Are you sure? A poster with many more posts than you waits 5 years from joining to troll the board, nah can't agree.

Some prior research next time perhaps, this stuff has been flying around for months, not 24 hours.
    Years, not months.

is there no comeback / cooling off period when you buy a 2nd hand car. We only bought it / drove it home yesterday and 24 hours on this is all over the news.

    Just great.

Its been on the news for at least a month. You have no right to return it, they have no obligation to give you your money back.

If they hike up the cost of diesel it screws over haulage companies and 95% of all goods in the UK move by road.

As for the cost, today my local petrol station was charging 1p/l more for unleaded than diesel.
  • If I had to drive a Meriva I'd want to return it too.

I had one for a few hours and it ended up like this

I let a passenger drive as I was tired and he tried to overtake a tractor that was turning right.

    You had a lucky escape.

You might have been stuck with it for longer.

Looks like several thousand worth of [STRIKE]damage[/STRIKE] improvements there

Joking aside, i quite like the Meriva. I always found them to be easy resold when i was motor trading

You can just imagine the thread on here:

"I had a minor collision with another vehicle, a Meriva. I'd like to avoid going through insurance but the other driver is saying there is substantial damage???? I've had a look (picture attached) and I think that some T-cut and dent repair would suffice. He's not playing ball and wants to get an approved Vauxhall dealer to quote for it which I think will be expensive. Am I being taken for a ride here? What are my rights? Do I need to tell my insurer?"
