Hi.
Just wonder if anyone can tell me if you need to saok yellow split peas. I have some but not the packaging to read the instructions. I want to make a soup .

    The instructions on my pack say:-

    Cover the split peas with cold water and leave to soak for twelve hours or overnight.

    People have often said that you can get away with not soaking these if you're doing a long cook in a slow cooker.

    Give them a rapid boil for about 10 mins and then continue as normal making your soup. Works just fine as am always forgetting to soak overnight.

    Thank you for that. I have put them in the slow cooker so with any luck it will turn out ok lol, if not its bangers and mash for tea.
