I have a number of credit cards that have been "passed" to various DCAs at the moment. I am in the process of paying these off - but I wondered what happens to the credit card account when the debt is settled.
For example, I have a Halifax credit card that has been transferred to Moorcroft but it still shows on my Online Banking profile. When the debt is settled, will it close automatically or will it still be active?
The reason I ask is because my employer wants me to pay for travel costs and then claim them back as expenses..I was hoping to be able to use a credit card for the travel only and then clear it as soon as an expenses claim is paid.
Cheers in advance.

Moorcroft may be collecting on behalf of the card provider rather than sold to.
You won't be able to use it if its defaulted. They can also block it if you are a couple of months or more behind in payments.
Once paid, it will show as settled on your credit report.:beer:0
