Britannia PCN

Posted in another thread, but now posted here:

A family member has received the same kind of letter from Britannia.

No ticket was on the car.

Only just received the FINAL REMINDER.

Location of the contravention though states the name of a public road but it does not state the actual contravention. Date is some time in December.

They do not recall having gone into a car park - however car owner is a blue badge holder

So the template letter which disputes signage etc would not seem relevant.

Should they add a line stating that contravention never occurred.

Should they just send the letter, as is, and just wait for them to come back?

Coupon_Mad advised to send the template as it is and not to say the contravention did not occur.

So thank you so far.

Having logged into the website it is telling them they are unable to appeal this charge at this time - is this because too much time has elapsed and the discounted period has elapsed? Bearing in mind this is the first correspondence they have had in relation to this.

I think I recall it says somewhere to avoid posting.

What should they do?

OP doesn't have an "original thread", they had posted on someone else's, no doubt you'd have had a go at them for that if you'd noticed.

    Thanks Quentin.

    They intend to do that.

It was more the second part of my post and the fact it says they they are unable to appeal at present.

    What should they do?

    Appeal by post?

How does the PCN/NTK say to appeal? That is the method the keeper should try. This assumes that the final reminder was the first the keeper heard about the PCN.
If it doesn't work then complain to the BPA that the keeper has received a NTK and tried to appeal, but been denied the opportunity to do so. Send a copy to the PPC.

Complain to your/the keeper's MP about this unregulated scam.

They have not received an NTK.

They have only just received a Parking Charge Notice - Final Reminder.

It states to pay "within the aforementioned time period" but this letter states no time period.

It also states: "Should you wish to appeal please do not make any payments" - It does not say how to appeal.

So they went on the website to click on the box to appeal there but it says that at this point in time they are unable to appeal

So they are just as confused.

Ok - so they'll post to the only address they have from the PCN which is the registered address in Bournemouth BH2 5PS.

    As a side note:
What confuses me is that they are sure they were not in any car park, but a public main road, which the PCN does have written down - so how can they issue a charge for parking on a main road?

Something doesn't seem quite right, but hopefully Britannia will be able to send photographic evidence as per the template request.
