Make upto £10 a day in August 2017 - everybody most welcome 31st Jul 17 at 10:45 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 120th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make £10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra £10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of £1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to £5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for £10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:

    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:

Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX, MusicMagpie, and a few more too

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything. (You will be suprised at what sells!)

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

Join cashback sites like Topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Mobile phone to recycle? Try http://mobilevaluer.com/ but also check other selling sites like ebay, Facebook selling, gumtree, etc.

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £310 (or any amount of course!).
lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it.

She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff. Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

#10 buy and sell unwanted gift cards on Zeek
#10 Zeek - sell and buy gift cards

If you have unwanted gift cards or even if you want to try and buy some at a discounted rate, check out Zeek. . If buying from zeek, check out the CASHBACK sites first as you can earn money, buying your gift cards 😊

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.marketplaceapp&hl=en_GB

Itís easy to sell on zeek. Register your account, look for the retailer whoís gift card, you want to sell. Add the gift card details and the discount you are prepared to offer. List your gift card. Most gift cards sell very fast and you will receive your payment after fees in either paypal or your bank account or even amazon vouchers!

You can now choose Amazon gift cards as your payout method on Zeek!

Please note, once paid, you will not be able to change our payout method to cash or Zeek credit.

As long as your voucher has not yet been sold, you can edit your payout method by going to: ĎMy listingsí> desired voucher listing> Ďedití (at the top of the voucher)> and change your method to cash/Zeek credit.

Payout in Amazon gift cards gives you the benefit of reduced seller fees!

If you chose Amazon as your payout method, your Amazon gift card will become available to you in your Zeek wallet within 14 days of your sale. You will be able to redeem your gift card at www.amazon.co.uk. Gift Cards cannot be reloaded, resold, transferred for value, redeemed for cash or applied to any other account. Please see full terms and conditions here.

Why are you charged a transaction fee?

Some purchases are subject to a transaction fee to cover the cost of payment processing and authenticating the gift card for sale.

If you receive a promo code

All credit expires within 10 days of its claim, unless otherwise stated within a specific promotion

    What is Zeekís Share campaign?

Our share campaign enables you to earn a £5 credit reward for every new user who downloads our app and buys something using your unique share code.

You can now buy Zeek credit!
Buying Zeek credit is a great way to save even more on your shopping. When you purchase a Zeek credit voucher, you will receive a redemption code. When you claim this code you will receive its full amount to your Zeek account.

Can I ask what you do with your elderberries please, KM?

We've loads of tall elderberry trees in our garden and they're always laden with fruit. I never pick any but at least they're a feast for the birds. To be honest, I don't know what to do with them (apart from wine making which I'm not interested in doing). That's a terrible confession from a country-dweller. All ideas very welcome.

Likewise for rowans. I've never seen such a wonderful amount of red berries on our trees as there is this year. Again, our loss is the birds' gain. They go mad for them

No more time to respond to posts now as must dash to the event I'm helping out at. Was really busy yesterday, thank goodness. I hate standing around doing nothing at that sort of event.

Have a happy and profitable weekend, everyone

I have a recipe for blackberry cordial which is good where you could substitute elderberries. Give me a shout if you would like it.

    £7.03 today from matched betting.

Started using Qmee, managed to get £0.49 yesterday (inc. some surveys), but have had absolutely nothing searching today. Will leave that be until I build up a few pound, or am having a slow day with betting etc.

Sold the game I listed on eBay already! Just need to work out what the postage will be before I add it to my total.

Following on from our talk about JobSpotter last week, I just updated the app this morning and "Verify" is now back, and states that after a certain number of verifications you'll get 10 points added to your wallet, so those of us with iPhones should now match those with Androids!

Hello I have more bad than good to report, but still made a little bit today!

    Mystery shopping

The good - took my mum out for a lovely meal yesterday, she enjoyed it very much - all covered in reimbursement that I will get towards the end of this month.

The bad - handed over my receipt for beauty treatment as requested in the venue. No receipt usually means no pay. Not the end of the world as it was a very cheap treatment and I have paid three times as much in a salon before.

Also cancelled two mystery shops today, just reached saturation point I think! Got a few lined up for this week, still.

    eBay

    The bad

    Three items today not sold.

One item sold but not paid for.

Two unpaid cases open, need to find out what steps come next.

Time consuming responding to low offers on a Buy it Now, declining offers.

One buyer asking me questions. I answer, he ignores me!

One item sold at £3.20, very disappointing amount - that's the way it goes though, could maybe have got more at car boot. Still more than Cash for clothes.

    So today's total is £5.60:

    £3.20 - eBay sale
40p roadkill found by Co op cashpoint.
£1 for Facebook sale (yes I do bother with that low amount xxx)
£1 saved by eligible ticket being found in car park machine just as I was about to pay!

Good today though - £415 in Facebook sales I did for my mother in law, very pleased to have helped, photographing and listing for her and arranging viewings of items, both of which were snapped up! She gave me £400 towards repair at home so I've got her that money back!

contact the MS company. depending who they are, maybe amenable and find a way round it, don't write if off just yet.

Also cancelled two mystery shops today, just reached saturation point I think!

I get like this. I hate report writing, don't mind doing the role playing. I was aiming to do GFK's 50 jobs for that bonus this year, not had time with DS being off and also think I just am not up for it. Have other stuff going on that takes precedent unfortunately.

One item sold but not paid for. not everyone pays straight away. could be waiting for payday, busy and not checked emails. don't panic, I am sure they will pay.

Two unpaid cases open, need to find out what steps come next.

    you may find this useful

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/unpaid-items.html

Time consuming responding to low offers on a Buy it Now, declining offers.

set your buy it now limit. so if they offer a best buy - set it at the limit you are prepared to accept. anything else will get rejected automatically. or put it in your listing, no offers accepted

    http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/best-offer.html

One buyer asking me questions. I answer, he ignores me!

is he actually buying? if not, block him. if he asking tons of questions and taking an age to come back, block him. I had a time waster who did this, promises of buying it then got me into trouble with ebay. don't waste your time. no one is paying you to deal with him.

One item sold at £3.20, very disappointing amount - that's the way it goes though, could maybe have got more at car boot. Still more than Cash for clothes.

do bins for clothes, everyone wants clothes at 99p.
