Make upto £10 a day in August 2017 - everybody most welcome 31st Jul 17 at 10:45 PM
    Hello and welcome everybody

This is the 120th month of this challenge, which was first started by Batgirl, in September 2007. A link here to the original thread as I am sure some of you are interested to read where it all began.

Thanks to Batgirl for starting it, lynnejk and ALL posters, for helping us to keep the thread going. Thanks to previous challengers who used to run this thread too, Rawdinosaur, Emmaglet, Nat21luv, Monkeynut, Sweetpeas, Purpleroses, JesaRose, MizMir.

I have decided to rename this challenge as reading posts, it seems to put people off thinking they HAVE TO make £10 a day.

    You don't.

The original purpose of this challenge was to help people to try and make an extra £10 a day on top of their normal income to help things along. Ie paying off debt, making savings, paying for holidays, overpaying mortgages etc.

That is exactly what this challenge is about, attempting to make extra income on top of your normal income to help you wherever you need it.

People start the challenge by setting a goal of £1 a day. Then when they find they are smashing this regularly, they up it to £5 a day. Some of us gluttons for punishment go for £10 a day. It really is entirely upto you. We only ask you to post what your goal is to help you keep motivated. Some days you make more and some days you make less, but aim for extra at the end of the month.

The idea is that everyone posts how they are making extra money and these shared ideas help all of us to learn new ways to help cut debt or earn/save money.

    What cannot be added:

    Wages from your main job

    What can be added:

    Overtime
    Income from a second job
    Daily clicks
    Interest
    Vouchers
    Mystery shopping
    And much, much more.

This board moves pretty quickly, so be sure to subscribe and read it regularly. Below are some ideas to get you started and a great place to read when you're in need of inspiration.

    Sell your old books/DVDs/CDs/games here:

Amazon.co.uk, play.com, webuybooks, zapper, CEX, MusicMagpie, and a few more too

Ebay - a place to sell anything and everything. (You will be suprised at what sells!)

Gumtree, Preloved, cquot, ebid, craigslist, vivastreet, netmums.com, trade-it , Friday ad, priceminster - these are all places you can sell items too.

Survey sites - mysurvey and pinecone, prolific academic tend to be the best but there are many more it really depends on you finding the ones that work best for you - toluna, harris poll, valued opinions etc

Join cashback sites like Topcashback and Quidco - type in surveys in the search engine and some will pay you to join up with them.

Mobile phone to recycle? Try http://mobilevaluer.com/ but also check other selling sites like ebay, Facebook selling, gumtree, etc.

etsy and folksy - If you enjoy making crafts why not have a go at selling them on etsy or folksy. They've been getting increasingly busier each year.

Trying to find other ways to make money? Check out the Boost Your Income board. It is full of ideas, including survey companies and product testing.

Want to help someone else out? Sign up through their referral on the referral board, and leave yours, so someone else can do the same for you.

Keep reading for lots more ideas on how to make more money each month.

This month's challenge is to try and make £310 (or any amount of course!).
lynnejk is assisting me and will create the challengers list and update it.

She will also be answering any questions she can help with and here for general advice. Having been a challenger for a while, she knows her stuff. Thank you lynnejk for your help.

Good luck everybody. Remember to post any questions or comments that you have, and let's go on encouraging each other throughout this month.

A must for all newbies if you are not already doing any of these:

    1. Apply to PineconeResearch here. They pay a guaranteed £3 per survey. You are never screened out, they don't send out lots, but when you get one, you know you will be paid within a few days.

    http://mysurvey123.com/pinecone-research/

    2. Apply to Shop and Scan - this is not the same as Nielsen Home Shopping Scanner. Shop and Scan is a hand held scanner, that you scan the barcodes of your shopping, you are paid 1100 points weekly for scanning, nothing if you are on holiday. You can cash out for various vouchers at 10000 points. Not much work for a good reward. They also send emails with questionnaires that are worth extra points.

    3. Quidco and topcashback toolbar notifiers - a must have for those who forget to check for cashback when browsing online before buying.

For every Steer you complete elsewhere (e.g. at home): 20 - 50 VYPR points.

    Redeeming your VYPR points.

When you reach 10,000 VYPR points, you can easily redeem these points for £5, paid via PayPal, or you can also donate a proportion of your VYPR points to charity.

http://www.vypr.it/#opinions-rewarded - download from here both iOS and android

    Terms and Conditions
    What is the promotion?
Create your listing(s) in an eligible category during the promotion period using the auction-style or fixed price format and you won’t pay an insertion fee per listing (promotional rate) during the promotion period.

The number of listings eligible under this promotion is limited to 100 listings per day or by your seller restrictions, whichever you reach first. Click here to learn more about selling limits.

Insertion fees for 1 day & 3 days duration listings, listing upgrade fees, automatically relisted listing fees and final value fees will still apply.

    Where is it?

    Who is eligible?
eBay.co.uk registered private sellers only. Participation is linked to the seller’s account and is not transferable. Sellers must be registered as a resident in the UK.

    When is it?
Valid as per the date shown on the marketing communication.

Only listings which start during the promotion period are eligible. Please refer to “How do I get the promotional rate?” for more details.

How do I get the promotional rate?
Only items listed on eBay.co.uk using the auction-style (excluding 1 & 3 days duration) or fixed price (excluding 3 days duration) format in an eligible category are included. Listings using the auction-style with Buy it now format will be charged only the listing upgrade fee.
Only sellers whose accounts meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards are eligible. Please sign in to My eBay and view your Seller Dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards. The Seller dashboard is available to all sellers. The detailed rating section is available to sellers who've received 5 or more detailed seller ratings (DSRs). Find out more about eBay’s seller performance standards.
If you registered after 15 March 2011 or haven’t listed any items for a while, you may have a listing allowance of 10 items per month or of £650 per month, whichever is reached first. You may be able to increase this allowance by providing additional verification.
Any eligible item previously scheduled to go live during the promotional period will qualify for the promotion.
If an item that is eligible for the promotion had previously closed without a successful sale and is re-listed during the promotion period, it will be eligible to the promotion. You will not receive a refund of your original insertion fee if the item sells.
Items that are automatically relisted through the Automatic relist function or the Good ‘Till Cancelled function will get charged.
For items listed in 2 or more categories, only the insertion fee for the first category will be eligible for the promotion. Standard insertion fees will be charged for listing the same item for each additional category, according to the eBay fees policy.

Listing upgrade fees and final value fees will still apply. PayPal and other third-party fees still apply.
    General terms
eBay reserves the right to suspend, change or cancel the promotion at any time, in the event of circumstances arising which, in eBay's opinion, make it necessary for it to do so. eBay reserves the right to add additional terms and conditions for certain parts of this promotion.

Thanks as ever for the new challenge, Aesop and the lovely things you said in your welcome post at the top of the thread

Please put me down for the usual £10, Lynne.

My PPI cheque arrived yesterday, that was in about half the time they said it would take and I couldn't believe they'd paid up so quickly. Needs to clear yet and I'm not counting it in my August £310 target as I like to see how I can do from the usual moneymaking ideas. Will add it to my annual total though when the money is actually in my bank account.

As for the 'C' word, Aesop, it doesn't bother me at all because OH is a dead ringer for Scrooge so we have a very low-key, non-existent 'C' in this house. A mixed blessing but at least it's cheap

Good Luck, everyone. Let's have another great month and smash those targets, eh?

Hi, I'm new to this challenge.

    Think I'll start with £3 a day.

Kicked off well already before 7am by completing a £1.25 PA survey ( of course I need to wait for that to be approved).

Going to try and achieve my target for the month in about 3ish weeks as we go away end of August
My LBM May 2017, DH LBM July 2017- Total Debt (not Including Mortgage) £37139.86
    £5527.67/£37139.86 14.88% paid
Estimated DFD JUNE 2020 (calculated July 2017)
    Debt Free by Christmas Challenge
    Total cleared £3150.63/£9091.72 34.65% paid
