Baggage weight allowance - Jet2 - combined or separate?

Jet2.com allows 10kg hand/cabin luggage on board for free. I have paid an extra £31appx return for what Jet2.com has labelled as "1 bag (22kg)" on my booking form.

Question:

Does that mean that I can take 2 bags:- ie a cabin bag up to 10kg in weight for free + check in a separate bag weighing 22kg? My total weigh would therefore be appx 32kg.

or

Do both my hand luggage and 2nd bag have to weigh a combined 22kg?

or

I can only check in the 22kg bag in the hold and not allowed hand luggage on board the plane?

Many thanks for your inputs.

you get 10 Kgs hand luggage AND your 22Kgs checked in luggage, but if you only have 18 Kgs in your suitcase, you cannot add the spare 4Kgs to your hand baggage, or vice versa.

And just be careful what you put in hand baggage (ie liquids, pointy things, etc).

    Thanks for the reply.

So no shampoos, conditioner, bottled drink for flight in hand luggage?

I didn't book the inflight meal and was hoping to take sandwiches and drinks on board - is that permitted do you know?

You can take your own sandwiches etc on board.
You can take drinks on board but you must buy them AFTER you have been through security.
At I might add a very inflated price.........but not as inflated as actually on the plane.
Normal size cans coke etc £1.80 for example.

you can take liquids in containers so long as the containers are 100ml or less (and are in a plastic bag meeting the requirements, etc). through security...so travel size shampoo and conditioner would be fine...we normally put it in our checked luggage though...I suppose if you could find drinks in 100ml containers you could take those through too - so long as they all fit in your one plastic bag. :)

Make sure you understand the rules around liquids carried in hand luggage through security.

Not 100% about Jet2 so to be safe make sure anything you buy airside (after security) will fit into your hand luggage and won't take you over the 10kg limit

I was told by Jet2 at Manchester airport check in that I am allowed a case and personal item (i.e. laptop, handbag, duty free bag, umbrella ect), but it needs to fit under the seat in front of you. No problems at the gate, almost everyone else had a handbag/laptop with them as well and nobody was challenged.

    From the Jet2 website:
You are allowed one small piece of hand baggage weighing no more than 10kg and dimensions not in excess of 56x45x25cm, including wheels and handles. Any piece of baggage that does not meet these requirements will need to be checked in as hold baggage and the relevant fee will be charged. It is not possible to use your hand baggage allowance against your checked baggage allowance or vice versa.

i am booking a holiday for four adults with jet2, it says that 10kg hand luggage is free so does that mean we all get to take 10kg of hand luggage?

I have also paid for a 22kg bag to be taken over by "bag" does that only mean it could be like a weekend bag or could i take a suitcase?

Also when booking the holiday next to each person it has a drop down menu to say if this passenger is taking a bag, if i put no bags for three people apart from the person who is taking a suitcase will the other three people still be able to take 10kg of hand luggage??

    HELP PLEASE :j

Hand luggage means just that and is per person and is in no way connected to your checked luggage.

If you have booked 1 checked bag then only the person whose name is against this can take a bag/case up to 22kg in weight. Remember that if all four of you put stuff in the one case, when they ask at the airport 'has anyone asked you to carry anything' then legally the answer should be 'Yes Ive got some items that belong to the rest of the party in my case'.

On the other hand, the person with the bag could have asked the others if they want anything carrying in the suitcase. In which case, the answer to the question will be no, as you asked them!

Joking aside, at the end of the day it doesn't matter, as all are travelling, and the question is asked to all members, as it also includes hand luggage.
