Best electric toothbrush

Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice really. Searched through all previous posts but couldn't find a topic about it but was just wondering what electric toothbrushes people recommend?

I currently use a 'manual' toothbrush but want to move to electric to ensure I get a thorough cleaning each time I use it and one of my main goals is to whiten my teeth and I've heard certain brushes are better at this.

Can anyone recommend a really good one that will whiten and has the best possible features? I have a budget which is a maximum of £90, but this is an absolute maximum.

Also does anyone know the best sites for discount dental products and accessories please?

Thanks in advance.

    Oral B 8500.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

The ultrasonic ones are very overrated. And excessively expensive.

Toothsmith - there appears to be an 8500 and 8500 DLX - is the DLX the one to go for?

Started with the Braun ultra , very good but buy the 'heads' via the web , I seem to wear them out quickly.

Now I am on a very expensive Philips sonicare .
No contest.... my teeth are worth the extra. Yes I paid over your budget - £100
but you might find it at your price!

Hint .. use any elec brush for the first time in a locked room:rolleyes:
Its very easy to make a bit of a mess til you get it right.

The speed will be the same, and it's the speed that's the important thing, so unless you prefer the other whistles and bells then no, the basic one will do as good a job.
