  • Thank you Verbatim (and louby and stockiebecks and Lula belle) I realised re-reading I hadn't thanked anyone for helping me recently. I'm blaming it on long hours and worn out-ness. Poor manners by me- Big heartfelt thanks to all.

December has been hard. Went out Wednesday night which was lovely. Not too much alcohol, but just enough. Working long hours which helps with spending. But no denying I need to reign in and sort it all out. I am overdrawn and that needs rectifying.

    It is almost Christmas.

    Plans this week
    Hair
    Dentist
    Leg wax
    Minimal food spending
    Minimal toiletries if any
    No clothes
    Out tues, wed
    Payday Friday
    Christmas Eve Saturday
    Christmas Sunday

January will be better I am promising myself. Going to get it all sorted and be the person I was supposed to be without being held back by all the debt.

Home tonight and tomorrow. Saturday, Sunday and Monday with family (could be overdose 3 days running!) tues and wed see friends thur and fri low spends.

2017 is a brand new start!

No thanks needed - we're all in it together
  • This time of year can be such a struggle to stay out of the overdraft.

It's all the social events, everyone wants to meet up at this time of year & there is only so much money.

I have my night out tonight then that's me home for the rest of the weekend!

    2017 is our year.

  • Thanks Louby and Dolly. I am home tonight. It's supposed to be the worst night of the year for drinking and drunken behaviour so be good Dolly!
Went to Lydl tonight and have eaten. Trying to reign it in after doing a bit too much. Heating and slippers on. Home till tomorrow.

  • Thank you Seaside. I've cut down my social activities and at this moment have no holiday booked, no expensive gig/festival tickets and nothing big planned for the next 3 months.

Need to finish Christmas shopping off this week, I think about £150 left to go all in.

I am at 103 days of loan left. 79 hours to pay day to fill up the overdraft and for last few Christmas bits.

    Also for
Usual bills ex council tax-paid for
    Water billl
    Very 123
    Hair and dentist paid for
New Year's Eve, not sure of nye plans
    Team Christmas drinks
    Drink with friend
    Post Christmas sales
Pub dinner with friend not seen in ages

Rest of dec and January needs
    No extravagant social plans
Restrained sales shopping in a sensible manner
3 books on my list to buy for January for nights in.
    Massive effort to minimise socialising.
    Also studying
    Job hunting
    Clearing out freezer for defrost

    13 days to 2017
    6 to Christmas

In May instead of minimum payments planning to pay
    £125 mbna
    £100 Sains
    £50 Halifax

Plan is to have overdraft and other credit card closed so "just" have these 3 but this depends on the next 3 1/2 months. We will see. x

So ditch sales shopping and invite friend to yours. S/he brings bottle you cook = minimal spend. And to be fair you've had quite a bit of spending pre sales on clothes, perfume etc not to need (not want!) anything.
Start 2017 with better spending habits the way you mean to go on!:money:
