help with USA plans

Looking to go on a holiday next year me and my bro both in 30's he wants to go to the USA which is fine by me, I did a quick check on trivago and cheapholiday flights but tbh its all a bit mind boggling.

As for when we can fly the answer is when ever it is cheapest to do so whilst maintaining a decent amount of weather.

Im assuming we are going to get hit by room charges us being two single guys?

So where do you guys go to book your trips, any advice on where to go I personally wanna go Vegas i play poker a lot so whilst he wants beach n bums any advice would be fantastic and were planning on going in 2017

Many beach resorts have casinos, so that may keep you both happy.
Have a look on Ba.com at their flight+hotel deals.
Hotel rooms in the US are big, so easy to share. If you want your own room you may find a 2 bed apartment.
Where in the UK are you?

BA will offer flights to just about anywhere in the US, although from Heathrow.

If you're regional, you can get a (I think) free 'shuttle' service to Heathrow from the nearest airport to you, then a flight onwards, or it may be worth looking at the flights for your nearest airport with Virgin or one of the big US carriers.

I can check who does what and to where with a rough location or the nearest airports to you (2-3 would be ideal).

  • BA stopped the free shuttles a long time ago.
Hotel rooms in US are usually price per room, so it's easy to get a room each.

If you decide to visit Las Vegas and then the Los Angeles area for the beaches (Santa Monica or Venice Beach or Huntington Beach etc) then you'll need to choose how to get from LV to LA. You could fly, drive yourselves or take a bus. There are no passenger train services on that route.

Driving in Las Vegas is fairly easy.

Driving from Las Vegas across the desert is very easy. Some people find it boring, but others find it awesome.

Many people find driving in the Los Angeles area stressful.

    REALLY

When did you do this last?

If you keep to the back roads and know the one ways and rat runs then it's "easy"

Otherwise it's a traffic jam from morning till night and it's quicker to walk

Oh and BTW you do know that now a lot of hotels charge for parking? (used to be free....)

I've just done another three day trip there and with the free shuttle buses (if you know where they are) and Lyft taxis a car is NOT an option.

USA is a big place so weather can be extreme. Rough guide May-October.

No-Depends where you go but rooms can be huge and easily sleep two single guys in separate doubles

    There is a Vegas thread

    A New York thread.

    A Southwest thread.

Usually book direct with airlines and hotels to create your own package.
Can be cheaper and you have more control.

    BTW
There is a Total eclipse of the Sun that crosses most of USA on August 2017

I am sure you are fine but be aware of the ESTA questions before you book your holiday, getting a visa is expensive and troublesome.

    hi
My brother and i are around similar ages to you (im 32 and he s 26) and we have done vegas on its own, and we have done new york-vegas in a double city break with no issues in regarding beds- in vegas we stayed at the mgm grand in a grand queen room , 2 queen beds, in new york it was 2 double beds,

In regards when is cheapest i would haazard a guess *out of season* so jan-match maybe would be cheaper than say june-august!
There are alot of websites that can search for cheap flights, somone has mentioned the las vegas thread( big fan here) so there are some sites there which will help
    hope this helps
