Thanks for this!!!! I've recently found my knitting bag and am knitting a patch-work quilt. It is for me, in my new house with my husband to be to keep me cosy (when he's not) and for wrapping up any future babies!!!!
I am finding it very relaxing!

Calling itself 'the ultimate knitting pattern collection': this has patterns for women's cardigans, shrugs, wraps and shawls, and baby clothes, and some cushions and rather cute tea cosies - about 50 all in all, I reckonHighest debt: mountain of £8,691 in early 2003. Got to say a massive thank you, theres some brilliant patterns and without sounding tight, I noticed the boat pattern on childrens is DK wool, so were not tied into the posh wool at £4 a ball, this makes it really excellent value
Thank you again xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
The blog fadedsplendour.com has a good range of free vintage patterns to download, from the 1940s and earlier. They normally add a new pattern weekly. Great retro toys and sweaters! Tried to post some pictures but not allowed0

Lets Knit
I came across this site via a competition newsletter (I did search, but couldn't find it listed here).
Registration is free , and they have various patterns available for download in the following categories:-
Bags (16 patterns)
Hats & Gloves (11 patterns)
Toys & Homewares (17 patterns)
Socks (5 patterns)
I personally don’t knit , but hopefully this will be useful to the many who do.
Note: FYI - at the top of the home page, there are also links to various other craft related sites :j.
Thanks as ever to all posters :beer:May contain nuts. Your mileage may vary. Batteries not included. Thanks to all posters

Sadly, the cost of balls of wool have outweighed the ready made jumpers now but if anyone has a cheap wool source, I'd love to know. knitting has recently been recommended for depression sufferers and also hyperactivity can be channelled with knitting.
Kemp wools are good - end of line Sirdar and others at reduced prices.
