Breakfast and after school club for Universal Credit

A friend pays £7 a day for her kids to be in school before and after wards. Does this count as childcare?

Thanks

Yes, costs for morning and after school care can be counted as childcare for tax credits purposes.

Thanks but tis till not clear to me. The school is in Wales and isnt CCSIW registered:

    "Registered or approved childcare: Wales
To get help with your childcare costs in Wales only one of the following must
apply, your childcare provider must be:

registered with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW)

a school that provides childcare out of school hours and on
    school premises"

    "
How to check if your childcare provider is registered or
    approved in Wales
Childcare providers are given a letter or certificate as evidence of their registration or
    approval if they’re:

    registered by the CSSIW

approved under a home childcare providers scheme"

As they offer after after school club does that mean they must be approved under a home childcare providers scheme?

    Thanks

  • You said it was provided in school?

Doesn't "a school that provides childcare out of school hours and on
    school premises" apply?

    Childcare at school

You can get help paying for early years childcare provided by any school if the child is under 5.

You can also get help paying for childcare for a child of 5 or over from:

    a registered independent school
any other school, if it’s outside school hours and on the premises
