Gosh I don't think I have ever posted so much in my diary! Being off sick means my mind whirs with mortgage and money thoughts! Fed up now and worried will feel too unwell to do archery tomorrow!

I have bought a groupon for a birds of prey walk for two, £49.99, we have done a hawk walk before and that was fab so looking forward to this! Thanks housefund which I seem determined to deplete!

In other thoughts, I am sure that when we took out this mortgage the info said that for every £1 borrowed we pay £1.75! Therefore we save 75p of interest every time we throw a pound at it! Am going to find out what our mortgage info is so that I can send money online rather than having to ring, don't want to spend time waiting on the phone to send a pound or two...will also look at ways that we might be able to send some more joint funds over such as tilly tidying that account and sending it.

Very annoyed and upset to see that the Junior Doctors efforts have been quashed, this is the beginning of the end for the NHS I imagine.

Last post for a few days I promise!! Just applied to join the MFW in 3, hoping I am not too late, my target is too reach £156000 which is 20% LTV in three years. This is a reduction of £21,472, this target will only be feasible if the re-mortgage goes through well at a good deal, fingers crossed! Currently at 1720/21,472.

That's a long time away goal as well so once re-mortgaged will look at smaller goals for the mean time!

Ok last one now...just been onto online banking, as we paid £1k off in one go they have reduced my monthly payment from 933.75 to 900.19, £33.56 less (A whole £25.17 of interest this would add on)! So have changed my OP to reflect this...very frustrating as no one said anything when I was speaking to them online! Should all go through in time for next mortgage payment, when hubby sends his £1k I will tell him to tell them to not reduce the amount, if they do will just increase OP again! Makes no odds overall but it would have if I hadn't checked...hmmm!

    OPs are now: £343.56

Jodles I can read your excitement with the OP's and progress and it's so infectious! what a great feeling OPing a whole £1k must be. My heart would having been racing at the point of clicking 'confirm payment'!

    Well done, onwards and downwards!

Thanks SJ, I do get rather giddy about these things! No one in real life is that into it so have to share it in small bursts, hubby gets mildly excited as long as I keep it simple and he doesnt have to do much!

Hubby is wallpapering the lounge today, this should mean that the room will be fully finished!! Even after 3years in our last house it never felt we had actually finished!! Only problem is we have noticed a stain coming through, it was there when we moved, no damp or anything its very dry, so no idea whats caused it and it has come through the white paint. Had assumed it was just something on the wall underneath but apparently not so will need to splurge on getting the stain resistant paint! Still going to say its finished though!haha. Next I think will be the bedrooms and bathrooms, our local DIY place has very limited bathroom paints which is very annoying so may need to venture into our nearest city for more options!

Last year we challenged ourselves to decorate every room (4 bed over 3 floors with2 en suites). In the end we ran out steam with the living room remaining, so that a potential job for the back end of this year.

You are right SJ, I am no painter either always leave streaks and make a mess so we have a friend who does mates rates thankfully! So that's one less hassle ourselves! I am good at sourcing good deals and finding inspiration!haha.

Decided to sort through some paperwork (whilst binge watching Haven on amazon prime...amazing!) and found that on one single letter from n@west they left in the sort code so this should mean that I should be able to make adhoc OPs online now! Going to send a few pounds across and see how it goes (this can take up to 5days if I pay over the phone so may be similar online)!! Have sent £1.79 which was a tilly tidy of house account, theoretically if it works that would be £1.34 in interest saved from that little transaction alone! Haven't done these adhoc payments as I didn't think I could without ringing up which is more effort than its worth. If this works I will be doing more tilly tidies from the house account to pootle over onto the mortgage!

I make faster payments to mortgage too using sort code and account number. It's makes it so easy! And I fully agree on the whole issue that nobody else is interested, which is why these diaries are so effective. If I'm honest though I can't wait to tell people when we're all paid off and im thinking of reducing hours...!

    Hi Jodles

I started reading your diary yesterday and was excited to find that you've reached the LTV goal already :)

It sounds like a lovely place you have.

People will be super interested when your all paid off and working part time SJ! I have two friends that are quite savvy so do enjoy sharing with them but one of them is just about to buy and the other is doing up the place so they aren't at the OP stage yet.

Eating the Elephant, thank you so much for reading! Hoping you weren't too bored! I never imagined we would reach 10% by July 2016 and am so pleased about how well we have done! Its incredible! I think this place is lovely, I am very biased though! Some of the lakes in the field have started to dry up which is making it a lot nicer again rather than a bog which equals very dirty dogs!haha.

Still waiting to see whether the mini OP will go into the account then I will start doing more regular mini OPs! Found the paperwork for the mortgage and we are actually paying £1.89 per pound borrowed so saving a lot more than I thought with every pound sent! That £1.79 actually saves me £1.59, our first ever mortgage was £2.02 per pound, makes me feel sick!!
