Have not bought a TV since a 37" Sony Bravia in 2010 so am bewildered at what i am looking at

Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Just a general one, I don't think you'll find a TV in this country that DOESN'T have Freeview, but I do know that some Panasonics have Freesat built it - here's a list of Freesat TVs - that should get you started...

OP, even if you are not near a Richer Sounds, they will give you good advice over the phone.0

Top advice. Though if insisting on a Freesat TV the current range of Sony Bravia's include dual tuners.0 -
Buy a separate Freesat PVR. That way, when it goes faulty, you don't lose the TV set as well. And vice versa. Also, a PVR lets you record a channel while watching another. Humax PVRs seem to be the most popular.
Why can't you install an aerial? Sometimes a small aerial can be installed indoors or in the loft. What's your postcode? Freeview is a useful alternative when you lose the satellite signal (bad weather or fault).0
