a while ago somebody posted about a lady who was living for a year on a war ration diet, she was writing a blog and on the front page she introduced herself (in sound) Ive lost the link can anyone help, thanks Kerry
I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs, dust go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

I found a great place for some really fun to try recipes. All are wartime ration recipes so very frugal. Some sound erm....interesting, others sound really nice!

This is a good site. The lady who runs the site is doing a 1940s experiment and living off rations for a year in order to lose weight. She has a blog about it somewhere on the site.
Btw carrots were used during the war in sweet dishes a lot. I make one from a Marguerite Patten book called Duke pudding. It is basically breadcrumbs and carrot but is strangely delicious0 -
Thats an interesting site, had a look at all the recipes not just the ration ones. Quite like the look of that Green Bread that you basically microwave in a bowl.
Might have a go at that to see what it comes out like, anyone tried it?Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000
