Nothing to add really, I just thought I'd have a little shufty at our new thread.
Oh also, we got £17.50 unexpected payment into our account today - from Moneysupermarket, something to do with when I changed energy providers. That was a nice surprise :-)
Everyone that's at the start of the DMP, it is stressful and scary, huge changes are taking place and you're having to change your mindset and spending habits. Please try to remember, it soon settles down for most people and also brings enormous relief.
laters taters, SAAC
Nice bonus indeed. What's the plan?

Thanks all, I don't want to get boring with the 'woe is me' stuff, but... woe is most definitely me atm
We got a statement, you haven't paid, type letter from Capital One today, showing that our £1 token had gone in, but also a payment of £50 (and pennies) on the 5th Jan. It can't be the CCCS as they didn;t take monies until yesterday (10th) and it most certainly wasn't us, so any ideas where it might have come from? The statement thing doesn't say a source. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

thanks for this!! apart from the pain of not knowing our income/expenditure just yet due to moving house (thus changing utilities payments, reducing rent. etc) and the DLA award which will go to my son but also will change our tax credit award, things have been a real relief as you said- it's so nice knowing we aren't going to lose any money to interest and overdraft charges this month. For the first time in a long time, we can make the most of ALL of our income in the budget. We're enjoying the new 'cash for everything' system and so far have done really well.
Finally we're in a position to start reducing the debt, not just add to it. Wish we'd done it years ago.....0 -

Worry when they take it off not when they put it on.
There was a thing on Paul McKenna on gmtv this morning called havening technique to help stress. On the website if you want to try it. Hope it helps.

We've had something similar - but for £15 on a Halifax statement. Turns out to be a refund of charges.SPC5 #1457 Long hauler #293

We've had yet another missive from Capital One today, this time the £50 is called a 'cash back' reward!
Also, the PPI monthly amount of £70 has been taken off. We need to get that stopped, but how? Also can we claim it back? Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

It's going to go towards my Argos debt (see 1 debt versus 100 days challenge thread), along with £21 of foreign currency I found on my book shelf and whatever's in my penny jar at the end of the month (if it lasts that long without being raided to buy food)!
Would've been nice to go out for a meal but I'd rather blast Argos off the face of my debt, if I can. :T0 -
Oh, I forgot to mention that they want us to cut up the card and send it back to them. Of all the cards (3) we cut up, guess which bits we didn't keep?! *sigh*Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

I'm not sure if I am being helpful, more likely to be teaching my betters to suck eggs , but have you ever tried selling your left over foreign currency on ebay? It usually yields loads more than you could change it for at the bank :T
