Don’t worry I did the same, a year ago I had 10k less. The point is this is the time you are going to change it and this is now final. No point looking at life a year ago and comparing it to now, we have a light bulb moment, it wasn’t last year - it is now.

Put it this way, you are now a year further into your journey of a financially free future. It’s all part of the process :)

I was the same, have had a plan of action almost every year but then year on year my debt has always increased. Couldn't agree more with camz, you will beat this now and you will not look back.

Well done one getting your debt under that 8k mark!

Thanks :) It does feel like I'm making progress, I just need to make sure I keep the momentum going now.
I do feel like there's been a change in mentality. There was a really good offer online the other day on make-up (Free Gift when you spend £15) and I had it in my basket ready to pay. I got to the checkout and thought I really don't need this, why am I buying make-up (that I don't need) to get free make-up (that I don't need). Then emptied my basket :rotfl:

I feel like that was a small victory. :j

Absolutely a small victory! The shops know how to get us to spend our money so we do have to work hard to remind ourselves that we really don't need something. Well done for emptying your basket and saving yourself £15, that's an extra £15 that could go towards overpaying and all of those small amounts add up.

  • Oh yes definitely! I'll add it onto my Friday payment :j

It is a shift in mentality such as this one which makes the big things happen, I've realised that too :)

Keep going! If you stop now, or lose focus it'll be even more in 1 years time, you will be crazy surprised at how quickly it grows in another year. Mad, in my case I got promotion and an extra £300 a month, yet still managed to gain 10k in a year, as I took the payrise to mean I didn't need to track anything anymore!

  • Yeah I've done the same when I've received a payrise, thought to myself right i'll put that extra amount in another account on the day I get paid... Never happened. :rotfl:

Hey great job on the debts and also getting them all to 0%. I wish I could get some of mine down to being 0% debts, but sadly cannot get approved on any of the good deal cards. It's almost a vicious circle when you get into debt, and you have so much, you end up paying higher also, so trapped there for longer! Keep up all the good work - and plan out all your spending, e.g know every penny and Job that £47 is for e.g. £10 groceries, £15 new shoes etc. Only buy what you need and cannot live without.
