I keep reading about jumps in petrol prices due to Harvey
Is this just scaremongering or is it best to get heating oil ordered as soon as possible?

Whatever world politics is doing, Heating Oil is always cheaper in summer before everyone turns on their heating - If you have the free tank capacity ORDER IT now.
Don't have a favoured supplier - Use Yellow Pages to find as many local suppliers as you can, (Ideally 5), and phone them all for their price on that day0 -

The simple answer is, if we knew we'd be rich. Oil prices are manipulated by all sorts of people and events and predicting them is next to impossible without very detailed inside information.
Working on the simplistic 'it's always cheaper in high summer' principle, I held off from buying in July at 33ppl. It promptly responded to a a cut in production by the Saudis and has crept up to 38p during August!
I'm now going to wait until the latest flap has died down to see what it does next.0 -
The report I read said petrol could jump 5p/ltr but diesel would not be impacted. Guess that counts heating oil out.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
