Hi, renowen, come on in and make yourself at home.
Well done, lantanna.
Lois, yes it is cold – 3C when I went out this morning! That is ridiculous! And cold makes me hungry; I am struggling to resist.Sewing 46/COLOR]Woollies 6Card s 17Reading 11/400 -
Does anyone know of any current magazine vouchers for free joining please?
Many thanks
Welcome aboard, renowen.Good luck with your journey.Keep posting here-we are a very[STRIKE]nosey[/STRIKE]friendly lot,and it is a very supportive thread.Good luck with your journey.
Chatter on a couple of SW facebook pages is that one of the magazines will be having a voucher at the end of May.Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything before then.(I believe there was one about 2 weeks ago in one of them, but it was expiring last week,I believe.
I am desperate to start meal-planning again.(I say again-I haven't actually meal-planned for about 6 years, and then it was whim that didn't last long.)I usually decide on the day what we are having. The last couple of weeks, since starting on SW again,I have been poring over recipe books looking for ideas.I think a bit more planning would help me with intake of speed foods as well.
Today's menu:
Breakfast: slice wholemeal toast with teaspoon Flora light (1/2 syn),Marmite, followed by 2 pears
Late lunch: bacon,eggs,baby plum tomatoes
Tea: fahita:WW wrap with chicken,onion and peppers,guacamole (1.5 syns),light sour cream (1 syn),cheese (3 syns)
Snack: mini rice cakes (3.5 syns)
HEA:skimmed milk in cups of tea
Brisk walking 45 min
Off to determine which (toast or wrap) is my HEB,and which to syn......
Edit:so,going to syn the toast at breakast (4.5 syns),and have the wrap (5.5 syns) as my HEB.
Off to plan some meals......SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

Working from home today, so plan a little different.
Breakfast - egg and asparagus
Lunch - miso noodles
Dinner - salmon stir fry
HA - milk
HB - none
Syns - miso (1/2), sf sauce (2).
Not planning more syns because it leaves me free to have something.Zebras rock0 -
Morning all - another cold one here, DH had to scrape ice off the car before going to pick up the papers - he's definitely out of the habit of doing that as we're usually in Spain when it's frosty here! The cold weather is putting off campers too, we've hardly got any bookings for the weekend even though it's a Bank Holiday. No breakfast before we left so ended up with a Brunch in Wetherspoons - scrambled eggs on toast (they don't do whole meal bread!) so 10 syns!!!
HEB - not had (can I knock 6 off the bread please, LOL!)
Problem being I only had 6 syns left for today so I've gone over by 8 for the week!!! but still hoping a might get a small loss (there was a small loss showing earlier today!)
As you're not having anything else for your HEb I think you should just count 4 for the white toast, but that's probably why I've got the lowest average weight loss in the history of SW! :rotfl:LL - Cursed Child meant nothing to me either! Like you I'm probably a bit old to have heard about it. I've certainly heard of Led Zepplin - hope you enjoy the concert.
Cursed Child would have been a great name for a band if JK Rowling hadn't got there first.
Kathryna - I really must get some asparagus to have with boiled or poached eggs, everytime I see someone else having it I think how lovely it sounds but I've never actually tried it.
We're having the M&S skinny burgers tonight with SW/Actifry chips, salad and HM coleslaw. I'm not sure whether we'll have the burgers in buns yet - it depends whether we have bread at lunch time, but I know DH prefers his burgers in a bun.
Have a good day everyone.

Cursed Child would have been a brilliant name for a band Lois, but not one I'd like to see I don't think!
Another good day yesterday, finished on 9.5 syns. "Luckily" one of my running group had quite a bad fall last night and I was attending to her when birthday cake was being circulated after the run so I wasn't tempted. She's been to hospital and has a bad sprain but will be fine.
Today's plan:
B - Apple
D - Bacon, onion, mushroom and tomato omelette again to get various bits used up
T - Going to finally make the lamb and aubergine curry from the latest mag, will have with quinoa
HEA - Milk
HEB - Probably nuts as usual
Syns - Sugar (2 so far), hot choc later (2), nothing else planned really so maybe a total of 6.
Final weigh in of the challenge tomorrow and like Lush, I'm definitely ready for the new one and the new thread!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hi everyone
Popping in to report a loss of 0.5lbs. I was a bit miffed at that until I took some measurements too and it appears I've lost weight round my waist and thighs so I'll not grumble too much So I've finished this challenge on a gain which is not what's supposed to happen I am sure :rotfl: hopefully I will do better with the next one. Upcoming christening is looming so need to get my bum in gear. I'm going dress shopping with my mum next week, half tempted to buy something a little smaller as motivation but we'll see.
I've never tried asparagus either Lois (not that I recall anyway). I very nearly bought some when I was doing my online shop yesterday, I thought it would go lovely in a risotto but ended up with tenderstem broccoli instead as it was out of stock. Maybe next time I've never tried avocado either and it always looks lovely on toast with eggs for brekkie - I know its highly synned on SW but I might give it a go sometime
Today's food:
B: almond milk (HEA) latte with sweeteners, porridge (HEB) with apple & cinnamon and a tsp of squeezy jam (2 syns)
L: JP with tuna mayo (guessing around 3 syns for mayo) and salad (although probably just tomatoes to be fair, think we are out of other salad items)
T: Asda LF sausages (1 syn) with mash & green beans
Mid afternoon syns snack a jacks (5)
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Glad you've got another holiday planned lantanna. It's something to aim for. You're sounding really upbeat.:)
I've also decided that I'm probably eating too much red and processed meat so from next week I'm going to try for more fish and chicken for dinner and a few different lunches for me. So I'm going to make a pot of veggie chilli to have with JPs as a change.
QUOTE]
Thanks! Off to Majorca in July.
I've had fish every day this week for dinner from Sunday.
Making a veggie chilli is a good idea and one I will steal this weekend!
I'm in a get things used up or out of the house mood and I'm sure I could concoct a veggie chilli with what I have in the cupboards / freezer.
We have a Bank Holiday on Monday so I get a long weekend which is great and will give me ample time to make my return to the gym!
Got my starting weight today. I'm aiming for 2 this week.
Also need to sort my water intake out again, plenty of fluids drank on holiday but mostly of the gin or red wine nature!0 -
Candy apple I wouldn't be a big fan of asparagus but love avocado. There is nothing nicer than a fresh guacamole!0

I've had asparagus with fish and like it, but never tried it with eggs - I've seen people recommending it as a substitute for toast soldiers with boiled eggs, and quite fancy it.
I'm also a big fan of avocados and have to admit that I don't syn them but never eat more than 1 a week. I think SW should allow for the fact that they're good for you and reduce the Syns.
