Retiring at 60

My husband is 60 in February and plans to stop working.
I am sure I have read on this board (cannot find it now) that national insurance contributions for men are automatically credited up until he is 65.
Please could someone let me know if this is true, or point me in the right direction to read the "blurb".
Many thanks.

which is about shortfalls has a bit on this. It seems to be credited in some circumstances but not all.
Might be worth his asking for a pension forecast.0 -
