Branston Beans at Tesco

Just a caution about a price I saw in Tesco's yesterday

Branston Baked Beans at 52p per tin

The 4-pack of the same item is £2.56 (64p per tin).

Looked at it twice, to make sure.

I was really looking for one of their Bargain Price offers on the 4-pack so maybe that is about to happen and this price is the "previously sold at" price.

It's an oft repeated observation-complaint here on MSE that supermarket pricing often appears to make no sense at all. Go look at the price of Tesco own brand beans; they're 37p per can, or £1.30 for a shrinkwrapped 4 pack (4 times 37 is £1.48 ), or £2.08 for shrinkwrapped 6 pack ... hang on, that's 78p extra for two more cans, or 39p per can, which is more than the single can price. How did they work that one out?

Are the days of 4 tins of Heinz or Branston on offer for a £1 long gone then?

It's ages since I bought any after stocking up at that price, then getting a shed load when the Tesco DTD was going on.

It depends what you mean by long gone.

The last really good deal for Branston Baked Beans was 8 cans for £1.57 at Tesco and that finished under a month ago:

I think the whole message contained in the original post is that Tesco are setting up to do another Buy One Get Two Free offer on the 4 packs of Branston Baked Beans.

So it should be £2.55 for 12 cans when they start the offer.

Ah, ok thanks. Wasn't sure if the deals had slowed down with food prices going up. I don't like paying more than 25p a can lol.

Will look out for the offer, hope it does come up!
