Shout credit card

I applied and got a rise card over a year ago which has become Shout.
Although it is very expensive it definatly served its purpose. Some months I paid it off in full some nearly in full just to run a balance. I have to say I think it was the key to me being accepted for other cards.
I had the RISE/SHOUT card first.
Probably six months later I applied for an Aqua and was declined which I appealed and I was offered an Aqua card which started with a £250 limit which is now £600.
I have just been accepted for a Creation Purchase card with a 3k limit. I never thought they would give me one, but I believe if you start at the bottom you can work your way up.
I also have had a JD Williams account which started at a £150 limit March 2012 and is now £1300 - not that I have ever utilised that anywhere near it has improved my ability to get credit.
It is all time; but everyone has to start somewhere.3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

I would say that at this point you should go with a prepaid card and wait it out until Cap One or Aqua accept you0

Hi
I have just got the shout credit Card and I'm starting to regret it already...
Is there anyway of checking my balance and how do I pay the balance? Very basic questions... very annoying system.
I'd appreciate any help...
Thanks0 -
Hi ryon.gower I agree the shout/rise VISA can be annoying as there is no online servicing nor any automated services but in my experience the customer service line answer almost immediately and despite being Indian based, the service has always been excellent. The card serves its purpose, as long as you repay in full every month there is no interest (service fees in their case) to pay and on your credit report it simply shows as a credit card and hopefully a whole load of green zeros as well. People have likened it to a payday loan in VISA form but this is only the case if you carry a balance on it.
If used appropriately it should go a long way to improving credit score. if you want a card to carry a running balance then SHOUT is not the card for you unless you're willing to pay the exuberant charges for it.
You would have set up to pay either the minimum or full balance each month when you applied for the card, this can be changed on the phone and they can also change the date this payment is taken from your debit card. They also provided me with their sort code and account number to make a payment using faster payments via my bank using the card number as reference, handy for if I needed to use the full available credit on the card but pay it back in full just before the statement date.CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -

Why not get a different credit card that has no service charges?0 -
Because waqasahmed, the Shout card is aimed at those with poor credit who cannot get another kind of card, otherwise nobody in their right mind would choose it over a card with a standard APR. mine enabled me to get an Aqua credit card after about 4 months of use an positive reports to the CRA's, I just use it as a back up card now
