Afternoon peeps - managed to log in a bit earlier than yesterday.
Lego Mum - bit of a list going on there
LeE -- great news on paying off the student loan
Bob - only a couple of days to go as a multiple business owner - well done
New job Speky - nice one
Ally - the problem is I have no idea what's caused the smell. The car is bearable now but once the rain threatened has passed I'll pull out the hardboard and wash it down with bleach. I've not ventured near the back cover yet - it's still out airing. Bof Soda might well be what's needed but I'm hoping the air helps.
Apologies to all I haven't mentioned - but hope all have a great day
Today's list for me:-
- Been to recycling at Mr A & had a quick fruitless womble in passing
- Have had eyebrows & other bits waxed - voucher covered it & I got a free parking space:j
- Not a NSD - DH had mentioned mallow biscuits in the £land & I needed batteries so I got these for him. Also - firelighters - 2 for a £ - always good to stock up
- All meals from stores - have just had lunch of broccoli & cauli soup with a roll lying about the kitchen bunker. Tonight's tea is pasta / YS meatballs & Loyd Grossman Tomato & Chili sauce (the only one we like & it is bought in bulk when reduced to £1)
- Work out bills for the end of the month *** insert bleugh smiley ****
- Pull together documentation for work
- Pick up pills from chemist (need to go out as I forgot - again)
- Print off APGs already wombled
- Look at RM surveys - must get into the habit of this
Anyway - I think that'll do for today.
Will catch y'all up later - Have a good one

Afternoon all
Just catching up with everything o the forum after a wee holiday away to the North of Scotland. Must have been the most frugal holiday I've ever been on. Between me and DH we spent a grand total of £250 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Accommodation was gratefully provided for free by my father who is working in the area and has a flat rented. Went to the local L and stocked the fridge up and cooked foods in the flat. We did have a splurge at a greasy spoon and spent £25!
I love coming on here. I think some days that I'm not getting anywhere quick with this debt and with threads like this, it highlights the progress I'm making. Keep up the good work all.
So today my small DFW things:
1. Went to the hairdressers. Ok may seem like a splurge, BUT I've waited 7 months for this. Yes I'm a patient person. I usually spend £80 getting my hair coloured and styled, but tried a new place recommended to me. Spent £45, and tbh my hair is better styled and coloured at the new place.
2. DH made a hearty soup of chicken, broccoli, lentils, leeks and onions. Delicious. Our aim is to use up what's in the fridge and freezer before doing a big weekly shop. Only supplement in what we need. I went into the supermarket for eggs and butter, and came out with eggs and butter. I'm being strong. Think the eye opener for me was watching Eat Well Spend Less and a woman going in for a swede and coming out with £85 worth of shopping. I really should know how supermarkets get you to spend money. I've worked in retail for nearly 2 decades.
3. Keeping the mantra. Was reading a book where there was line "I have everything I need. That's the definition of affluence." I do have everything I need. Keeping everything in perspective.Just because I disagree with you, doesn't mean I hate you. We need to understand this as a Society
Each morning we are born again, what we do today is what matters the most.

Can anyone with small children help with this? I need to buy a hyper-allergenic sunscreen for babies. Does anyone know of a good inexpensive brand? (Given that I don't have children, can you guess what it's for?)
Ok, coffee break over. Must get back to the veggie garden.

My lil thing today was a planned trip to B&M to buy surf. It is cheaper there than Tesco. When I got there it was reduced even more than previously. Tesco price £7.50 B&M price £3.99 (previous was £6.00)Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0
