    Thank you lovely peeps..beanie you are as ever an inspiration and satchmo..you had such wise words for me right from the very start of my diary... Daisy..we will, we WILL get that chalet..and go zooming off in the snow..just maybe next year ;)

    PS. Salad was amazing....grab all the young dandelions you can. As long as you wash them carefully they are free food! With the honey and mustard dressing it was gert lush...( as we say in these parts!)

    The leaves certainly aren't....wouldn't try the flowers( not sure why maybe the sap of the stalk gives you tummy ache? Cant quite remember) ...but the leaves if picked young enough are delicious. The root is used as a coffee substitute I seem to recall?

    :rotfl: I've always been somewhat paranoid about eating things I've personally picked from the ground ever since I was a child. Admittedly, I was a bit of a spoiled brat during my formative years, never thinking I'd need to acquire such knowledge.
