My local BYO does sell soft drinks and were very kind when I brought my own soft drink and gently pointed out that they do sell soft drinks. I checked and their literature states that this "is not a licensed restaurant, however we do allow our customers to bring their own alcohol".
After that experience, I check now with the restaurant beforehand
