we used to rent a car on arrival, but for the last few trips (save for our trip in March) we have just taken a taxi from the airport. We haven't had any terrible waits, and we just tell the driver to take the cheapest or fastest route, whichever we prefer. I understand why it's a big thing, drivers taking the tunnel without asking or making sure people know it's more expensive - it's illegal for them to do that...but after that long of a flight, we just want to get to the hotel as quick as possible and hope that the driver will do that.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Hi, the last time we went to Vegas, I drove, this time I'm not and not sure whether to order a car service or get a cab/uber to the Signature. Is it a lot of waiting around if you take a cab, let alone the tunneling carry on,lol. What does everyone here do? Thanks
I will be looking in to uber for future trips (mainly for reference), but I will not let 1 random experience stop me from getting a cab. We have never had to wait long.
Have you stayed at Signature before? It is now our home from home / hotel of choice.0 -
We used both Uber and Lyft this time and found them to be excellent. Never had to wait anywhere for long at all, and the pick up points are mostly well signposted. We hate getting taxis anywhere. It seems like as soon as they hear the accent they see $$$$.0

After getting longhauled twice (worst was $36 to Vdara) and feeling like an idiot for not kicking off about it, we get a shuttle now. $30 round trip in total, no incentive for the driver to take the long route and generally we get the chance to have a nice chat with the driver and fellow passengers. Not everyone's cup of tea and not the most time effective but it suits us as it's stress free!
We've toyed with the idea of getting a car but never have for two reasons - first is we both like drinking on holiday so would only bicker about who was Des for the day and second is that walking everywhere is the only way to ensure I'll still fit in the plane seat on the way home!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Hello all,
We are off to LV in May.
I plan on paying for most things on our Halifax card but we will take some currency with us. I have read this thread from beginning to end and have noted that it's good to have plenty of $1 bills for tips.
What's the best way of obtaining say $100 worth of $1 bills?
I'll probably be buying our currency online as it's likely to be £1000 that we change.
The online currency exchanges seem to give you high denomination bills.
Do we change them in the casinos? Or pay to change them in the UK?
4 weeks to go!0 -
you don't need loads of $1 bills to start - you can get them when you arrive. Easier to carrier larger notes, less bulky.
Every casino has machines that change notes ($100 into 5x $20, $20 into 4x $5, $5 into 5x $1 most places), or you can go to the cashier's cage if you would rather.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

guessing you mean june
Assuming its a Clarity Card , rather than changing £1000 wait till you get there and use an ATM, if you really want some dollars in your hand before you go , change £100 over the counter somewhere, using the travelmoneymaximiser on here to see where to go.
ATM in casino royale only charges $10 -
