    £1.84 added today, the interest on my savings account. So I'm now at £56.84 or 5.68%.

    I have added a bit to my emergency fund and now stand at £18.51. That is actually the most money I have had in savings for years! Says a lot about my past behaviour with money.
    Restarted my journey toward financial stability on 1st September 2021 - I will succeed!

    Up until about 6 years ago I would have said the same. Then all of a sudden I got addicted to saving. It always get's spent (house deposit, new bathroom etc) but I love that I can save it up in the first place and it's thrilling seeing a saving account grow!


    You'll be hooked now that you've started. It's all the milestones, the first £100, the first time you save and don't take any out for 2 months in a row and so on. There's always a new milestone to be chuffed about.

    You have me intrigued, so I will be checking out some of your other postings when time permits.

    Cybertortoise, I can safely say that when I started this thread, I was 3 months into what turned-out to be a 5 month Agency placement (I impressed the company enough that I returned 5 weeks back for another 12 week (min) contract) and needed to make sure that when the SHTF and I had to go sign on, I had enough cash to actually make it to when my benefits dropped in to my Bank account.

    At the start I was weekly paid, so every Friday I would check my Bank account and transfer the odd pennies above the '£' in to a savings account. I think that by the time mind job came to an end, I had amassed the grand sum of £18.98.

    I added the £5 reward received from my current account, 31p interest received from savings account, £1.00 just because it was an odd amount in my account, 45p from tcb payout and £4.42 from CoS.


    #125 now at £20.43

    No 108 reporting in. An unexpected sale of a exercise bike that was gathering dust in the bedroom takes my total upto £529.06. Waiting for a cheque for so dvd's I have sold to arrive, to be added as well.x
