I hope all goes well with your mums op. I'm not surprised you are struggling to be positive with everything you have going on, but please take care x

I've just checked my tax credits payment online. It's dropped from £41 a month to £18.90 a month despite my earnings being less than before, my self employment profit being £1500 less than I'd estimated and me working more hours. How on earth do they figure this out?! :(

Just phoned them. Apparently there's an error on the site and it's only showing the first payment due on 18th which is what they underpaid me last year. I should then get a payment of £120 the following day and then £99 a month regularly. That will really help the budgets, so that's a relief. The way I feel at the moment, if they'd said I was only entitled to £18 a month now I would've cried. :(

Just joined another survey site and gained £1.87 CB with TCB for doing so. :) Have tried to participate in my first survey but it won't load properly, so I'll try at home tonight.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi MeandO

Sorry to hear you had a falling out with your OH. I snapped at mine too, over him pointing out quite calmly that an item of clothing I was putting on had a hole in it. Sort of just felt like, yes, everything is old and tatty and needs replacing, thanks so much for actually saying it, especially when you know the reason why!

Such a challenge to be positive all the time isnt it.

It is Bob. Sometimes even with the best intentions and the greatest of efforts, positivity just escapes us, it's particularly difficult to find any after a 'long slog' of whatever it is we're all dealing with too.

I hear you on the holy clothes... and I've been sporting a rather fetching hole through the sole of my shoes for the past few weeks so I'm matching! :rotfl:

Love and hugs Bob, hope things get better for you soon too xx

Long post was just deleted, so this is the short and sweet version:

£20.10 hit account from survey site, along with £18 CTC. Sent £38 over to the bathroom savings fund. £115 to go to target needed to pay for the work. Should be able to throw some money from the outstanding CTC payments towards it.

Loads of surveys received from new survey site and two original ones I'm a member of. Filled in one for £15 reward, took ages, but finally did it only to get an error message at the end, so have sent a query about that. Need to complete lots more of them this evening.

Had to buy DS a new lunchbag in HB last night as his last one had gone mouldy. Picked up two - one for spares - as were only £1.99 including a flask. Picked up a few other bits not on list, but to put away for Christmas presents.

Lunch is leftovers from a yummy storecupboard meal made last night. Dinner is all planned, no extras needed.

Another business order to do and post, will need to spend some money on postage tonight and eczema cream as the stress is giving me a massive and very painful flare up. :(

  • Hi MeandO,

Sending lots of hugs for your mum, hope that the op went well?

Gggrr to TC but glad they sorted it out.

Sympathies re argument with OH, must be something in the air as my DH has been grumpy too.

You're doing great on the surveys too x

Thanks PMO2, op went well, but it was to obtain samples for diagnosis, so we have up to a two week wait to see what the situation is. Specialist has told her they're 89% certain it's worst-case though. I'm clinging onto the 11%. :(

There definitely must be something in the air! Hope your Mr Grumpy finds some sunshine soon! :rotfl:XX
