Sorry memory is not what it used to be.0 -
thanks very much Caz3121, that's very useful to hear. Clearly the US airlines hate this EU regulation (much too socialist for them) and do everything to avoid paying up.0

Hi,
We had a nightmare trip on Emirates with our outward flight from Birmingham to Tokyo via Dubai being initially delayed at Birmingham and then cancelled due to a "Technical Fault". After a night in hotel we were re-checked in (different flight number, but same aircraft).for a 12:00 departure. This eventually left 5 hours late at 17:00.
When we got to Dubai we ran through the airport for our connecting flight to Tokyo and got to the gate on Final Call, but were denied boarding as our seats had been re-allocated.
Emirates had re-booked us onto the next days flight to Tokyo (Narita) which would have made us 2 days late into Japan. Fortunately (at our suggestion) we got transferred onto a Tokyo (Haneda) flight which mean that we were *only* 29 hours late arriving in Tokyo.
My questions are:-
1. Are we entitled to the €600 compensation for each of the cancellation, delay and denied boarding (=€1800 each) or is it limited to one claim per itinerary?
2. Does the second days flight from Birmingham count as a separate flight from the cancelled one as this would negate the "exceptional circumstances" defence given the aircraft was faulty when it was allocated to the flight?
Thanks,
Peter.0 -

Hi lectureral,
Was your claim against United Airlines. I had to sign a confidential agreement as well. Well done on your win.

Has anyone any joy from an Emirates flight, UK to Hong Kong delay 16/8/14 from Birmingham. I am going through Botts and Co solicitors but worried about signing their agreement re costs incurred. Emirates refuse costs, but are offering air miles. It was mechanical failure.0
