If you didn't meet your partner , who would have been your second option?

Just light hearted of course

Can be real or celebrity

I would say probably the person my mum wanted me to marry.

I know it's light hearted, but the person your Mum wanted you to marry may not have felt the same about you surely?

I met several possibles, but my partner turned out to be the most stubborn possible.

With hindsight, I'm pretty sure the others couldn't have taken the weight. In my wilder fantasies, I've snaffled Ian Hislop, but I've no idea what he'd be like to be *married* to...

    No-one.

When I finally plucked up the courage and decided I was going to divorce the Number One Mistake In My Life, I was as certain as I could be that I would remain alone thereafter.

    Fate decreed otherwise.

    Along the same lines

I was happily living on my own (after a separation) - as was my current partner. Neither of us was looking - we just happened to sit next to each other at a work do and it went from there. We’ve got a relationship now that suits us both very well. We don’t live together - have separate lives and meet up two or three times a week (less at the moment because of child looking after duties).

If, for any reason, it ended then I’d contendly go back to my single life

Is the OP an opinion pollster in real life? They seem to have a penchant for asking vague questions, then never returning.
  • I'll have Jon Richardson.

I was going to go for Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu or Katie McGrath but didn’t want to give the OP (ahem) material.....

    Yep.
Like previous posters (now PPRd) who asked random questions on various boards but never returned to the threads.
HBBK (or something similar) comes to mind.

Nothing as sophisticated as that. I'd say a kid with too much time on his hands at weekends. Maybe his possy of friends is busy doing their homework. :D
